Mangalore: Fire Breaks out in Shop at Thokottu, Loss Estimated at Rs 4 Lac

Mangalore, Nov 2: A major fire broke out at a shop creating some anxiety in the locality near Kapikad in Thokottu.

The incident took place at 5 am here on Friday November 2. The reason behind the blaze was said to be short circuit.

‘Shakthi Durga Shamiyana’ was being run by Chandrashekar. It would rent out shamiyana, chairs etc for special occasions.

The shamiyana in the shop was reduced to ashes and other equipment were damaged. The total loss is estimated at Rs 4 lac.

As soon as they spotted the blaze, the locals informed police and fire brigade was called to the spot.

The police along with fire tenders managed to douse the fire with some effort.
