Hope Yeddy Won't Leave BJP, Efforts on to Retain him: Shettar

Hubli, Nov 4 (PTI): Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar today hoped BJP strongman B S Yeddyurappa would not leave the party and said efforts were on by the central leadership to retain him.

"I hope Yeddyurappa will not leave BJP and will remain a prominent state leader. The party is making all efforts to retain him and the central leadership will soon take steps to ensure he remains in the party," he told reporters.

Yeddyurappa, agitated on being neglected by the top brass after his ouster as Chief Minister, had stated last month he would float his own party in December.

He had resigned in July last year after the Lokatyuka report on illegal mining indicted him.
Shettar said BJP is all geared up for assembly elections due next year and some 'misunderstandings' in the party would soon be solved.

He said the return of former Chief Minister S M Krishna to state politics would not make any difference to BJP's prospects of winning the next assembly election.

"Congress lost in 2004 assembly election under Krishna's leadership, which paved the way for BJP to form a coalition government with JDS. I don't think Krishna can turn the tables on BJP this time too. There is no place, as of now,for Krishna in state politics," he said.

Shettar said he felt proud of giving a corruption-free administration after he took charge four months ago.

"My government is transparent and launched several development works," he added.
On the garbage menace in Bangalore, which prompted the High Court to warn the civic body it would supercede it if corporators interfered in waste disposal, he said the situation would return to normal as government has initiated steps to clear garbage on a war footing.

Meanwhile Medical Education Minister S A Ramdas said the BJP central leadership would take an 'appropriate decision' to suitably accommodate Yeddyurappa in the party.

"Yeddyurappa has toiled hard for four decades to build BJP in Karnataka and bring it to power and as such he will not defect from the party at any cost," he told reporters at Chikballapur near Bangalore.

Yeddyurappa would lead the BJP campaign in the next assembly election, he added.

    MR.Rakesh Shetty,
You seem to be living in a fantasy world which has space only for ignorants and religious fanatics. I do not condone the corrupt acts of congress, but in what sense do you term BJP as a clean party..?? Forget about clean politics, they could not even keep Bangalore city physically clean.. SM Krishna's achievements as a chief minister are unparalleled and will remain so in the history of Karnataka.
FYI, daijiworld readers are a very informed lot..!! So your cheap and ignorant comments will only make you a laughing stock in the eyes of every daiji reader on a daily basis and nothing else.

Joke of the century.....Wow..clean party BJP...BJP converted garden city into garbage city. Forget about corruption. Each minister is BJP is crook and corrupt. Yesterday CT Ravi was barking against Yediyurappa and today we see BJP guys licking Yeddy's /\$$ and requesting him not to leave BJP. BJP is party with difference. For remaining in power, they can go to any extent.

Possibilities of Yeddi leaving BJP are thin. Because, he knows, at this age, he can not build a new party & become CM again. So, he will change his mind & remain in BJP & continue doing blackmail for getting higher post in the party. Shameless people can go to any extent to gain power.

Taking Yeddi along will not be a safe game for BJP.

It is the arm twisting tact of Yeddi and it is we call politics, politics and trust is always like cat and mouse relation. BJP to retain its position in this coming election they should compromise to an extent with Yeddi and his group.Still a strong doubt yeddi leaving BJP!.

Yeddy does more damage within BJP whereas less damage if BJP leaves him out. Only way to retain Yeddy is make him boss in Karnataka and assign him the task to bring BJP in full majority in next election too and then you see the difference

"Yeddy, please stay with us and we will make you CM after the next elections". This is is the line BJP has to toe. This will ensure not only he and his cronies stay but also they work to win the elections. Any way does it really matter who is at the helm for the aam admi? Congress or BJP or JDP they are all the same: Crooks.

If BSY gives second thought on POLITICAL TALAQ to BJP the fact and confusion remains intact in BJP!The decision may counter productive for both BJP and BSY.Why those leaders who are now batting for BSY remained conveniently silent for long time? Can the division which BSY made in the BJP will fade away as business as usual?Certainly not. There are numerous GAB in the rounds in the media that BJP's some 25 MLAs and Ministers are in touch with Congress including BSY's closest aide Bommai and Somanna!!!I think that new development might prompted both warring party for a ceasefire?Anyhow,BJP's reputation governance, and accountabilities are tarnished beyond repair. If BSY gives a thought to cling in BJP that would a drawback for him under such advanced circumstances.Parting from BJP may give some edge that is if not King but certainly a tag of KING MAKER.
