Dubai: Muhurut for Tulu Comedy Play 'Porlu Thuvade' Held

Dubai, Nov 5: Muhurat for the much-awaited Tulu comedy play 'Porlu Thuvade..!..  Be Kind…', written by G A Bolur starring local artistes of Gammat Kalavider led by Vishwanath Shetty, was held at Fortune Classic Hotel Apartment Al Qusais, Dubai. The muhurat was conducted by Puruhoit Raghu Bhat in a traditional way.

The drama is scheduled to be staged on January 18, 2013 at Emirates Theater Auditorium, Jumiera, Shiekh Zayed Road, Dubai. 

Chief conveneor Vasu Kumar Shetty formally welcomed the guests and the artistes. In his address he spoke about the uniqueness of the social drama combined with comedy and the social message related to the current human life. 

With faith in the talented artistes to provide utmost satisfaction to the audience, he requested the public to support them and promote the Tulu culture.

Director Vishwanath Shetty introduced the characters and also mentioned that Gammat Kalavider was formed in 2011 due to a huge demand from the public. This is the second drama to be made under the banner. He generously appealed to the art lovers to support this drama to promote Tulu culture.

The  invitees who graced the occassion included the grand patron Harish Bangera, Praveen Shetty MD of Fortune Group of Hotels, B G Mohandas of Gulf Kannadiga.com, Herman Lewis of Radio Spice 105.4 FM, Sathish Poojary, president of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Premnath Shetty, MD, Heatshield LLC and Sathish Venkatramana of Chilly Willy.

The programme was conducted by Rajesh Kuttar and the vote of thanks was given by Suvarna Sathish.
