Bantwal: 'Cheat' Fund - Cyprian Baretto Absconds After Duping Four

Bantwal, Nov 6: Despite tens of cases reported in the media time and again, people seem to be continuing to fall prey to wily characters who mint money by dubious means. Chit fund is a hot favourite with those looking to make some quick bucks, and in yet another case, a man from Bantwal has used it to squeeze money out of his gullible victims.

Cyprian Baretto, a chit fund collector has reportedly escaped after duping Rs 4 lac from his clients here.

In this regard, Harish, resident of Kaadabettu, Muralidhar, Uday Kumar and Suresh Sapalya have filed a case against him.

Cyprian Baretto, resident of Vagga was running Relax Tours and Travels, Relax Communications, Rich Block Industries along with a chit fund. He is said to have collected Rs one lac from Harish, Muralidhar, Suresh and Rs 3 lac from Uday Kumar in the name of chit fund.

Another case is also registered against Cyprian by Raj Prasad Adiga, resident of Kaavalapadur. In his complaint, he stated that Cyprian had collected Rs 50,000 as advance for which Cyprian promised to supply bricks to him for construction, but he did not do so.

A case has been registered at rural police station.
