Dubai : Karaval Milan Announces 'Konkani Quiz'

Dubai, Nov 7 : April , 5 -2013  will be a day to remember for all the Mangaloreans living in the UAE who love our rich Mangalorean Culture and Heritage.

Karaval Milan – Dubai (Udupi Diocese) an association which represents the majority of coastal Belt churches from Udupi Diocese is proud to announce “Mega Konkani Quiz ” for Konkani speaking pairs ( Consisting of a Man and a Woman ).

This trendsetting mega event will be followed by a rib tickling brand new Konkani comedy drama which will be played by  a professional duo from India ably assisted by Karaval Milan members.

Karaval Milan has become synonymous with being a trendsetter in the cultural  and sports activities  in the UAE with their constant improvisation.

 The Quiz competition will give a glimpse of the Rich Heritage and Culture of Konkani. A well known distinguished personality from Mangalore will be “Quiz Master” for this event.

Managing Committee of Karaval Milan requests all the Mangalorean associations based in the UAE to enroll their teams for this Konkani mega quiz  event and make the day April 5, 2013 a memorable one.

More details on Place, Rules and Regulations will be intimated shortly.

• Desi Picnic on November 30th,2012.
• Sports Day for all Catholic Associations of Mangalore and Goa origin in February.

    I agree with Mr. Salvador Pereira. From last few years ,through media or public functions Karaval Milan s itself as an association of churches in Udupi Diocese. As per my knowledge The group originated from a small prayer group in Dubai with the aim of some social service activities ,under the able leadership of Mr. Charles Mascarenhas.(some current members of Karaval Milan may not be aware of it). Initially they used to say it is a unity of parishes of Kallianpura- Kundapur Varado and as later they had to include adjoining parishioner friends and wanted to elect them as office bearers, they themselves started declaring it as a unity of parishes of Udupi Diocese. Actually now Karaval Milan is an unity of few families of Udupi Diocese in UAE. Is there any literature to say that Karaval Milan is formed in consultation with all parishes of Udupi Diocese ? Matter is simple, it is a group formed by some like minded friends. If Karaval Milan is an association of all parishes of Udupi Diocese , allow membership to all and let know public about it and encourage the membership through representatives of all churches.

    Great idea and concept because this has a got a high potential of fun, entertainment and knowledge on Konkani. Doesn’t matter how many parishes are there – even if only one part of one parish is there - if it is organized professionally and with good planning this is going to be a fantastic event. I remember once such quiz was conducted by Hemacharya and Mr. Paul (MP…) - I don’t recollect which banner - and it was really entertaining.

    All The Best Karaval Milan for the quiz !!! Great Job :) And i like the name given for the picnic 'desi picnic' ... I guess its a desi picnic ekdum videsi style mein !!! Awesome stuff coming up :D

    Can you list which churches belong to this association? Do you have any confirmation literature? How you can claim Churches from Udupi Diocese, when Udyavar,Katapadi,Shankerpura,Shirva,Belman,Kallianpur Mount Rosary Kallianpur, Milagres Kallianpur,Kalmadi, Thottam, Kemman,Barkur,of late Brahmavar churches and may be more have their own associations, how you can claim Karaval Milan is from so many churches? better you advertise so many parishioners from different churches than otherwise. People please be aware of this truth.

    Hmmm 'Karaval Milan'
    Rib Tickling Comedy...Time comedies are staged which 'tickle' other parts of the body!
    Konkani Speaking Pairs.... I liked the ' re-confirmation ' of pairs in the (Bracket!). Goes to say that a 'bracket' holds a 'pair' together!!
