Mangalore, Nov 8: ‘Kanoon Jnanakosha’ a Konkani book on law by Stany R D’Costa, advocate was released here at Press Club on Thursday November 8.

The book was released by Fr Antony Serrao, parish priest of Bendur church with the presence of Edwin JF D’Souza, senior poet.

Addressing the gathering, he said that the book is mainly written to create awareness about law to Konkani people in their mother tongue. He said the knowledge of his professional life has inspired him to write three books and now fourth book is being released.

The book consists of around 121 related topics of law with detailed explanation, he said adding that the subjects which are included in the Indian constitution like fundamental rights of citizens, responsibilities of citizens, personal freedom, court of jurisdiction, supreme court, governor, president and others are mentioned in detail in the book so that common people can get a better understand.

Fr Serrao in his address appreciated the efforts of the author Stany D’Costa. He said that the book will help common people to move along right path. Fr Serrao also hoped for the book to be translated in Kannada and English so that it reaches all sections of the community.
