New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS): The government was "not backtracking" from education reforms, Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor said Thursday.
"There is no backtracking on education reforms. The pending bills shall be passed soon," Tharoor said, while addressing a conference organised by industry chamber Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
He however did not disclose which bills were exactly on priority.
"I will not name any bills, the minister (M.M. Pallam Raju) will give the details," Tharoor told IANS later.
Asked about holding talks with opposition for passage of the bills, he said: "A lot of action will take place in the coming days."
A number of education bills are pending for passage in parliament. They include the crucial National Accreditation Regulatory Authority Bill, Foreign Educational Institutions Bill, Prevention of Malpractices Bill and Education Tribunal bill.
