Mangalore, Nov 9: Once again, Jeppu parish is all geared up for the ‘Inter-parish Wilfy Rebimbus Memorial’ Konkani singing Competition on November 11, for the second time since it’s inception last year.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Parish priest Fr Nelson D’Almeida said that there has been an overwhelming response this year for this competition. In all there are 15 parishes set for the contest.

More than 60 contestants are eager to bag the prestigious trophy. This spirit and enthusiasm of participants has given a boost to the Jeppu parishioners to try their best in organizing such events and work towards unity among each other. The organizing committee has chosen qualified judges who are experienced and capable in judging the talented singers and choose the best voices for the grand finale to be held on November 25 at Jeppu Church open grounds.

The first round of the competition will begin at 2.45 pm in the Jeppu Seminary Hall and there will be no entry fee.

Meena Rebimbus, Fr Pius James D’Souza, OCD and Alwyn Noronha have been chosen as judges for the contest.

The Jeppu parishioners look forward to wholehearted support and cooperation of all Wilfy’s fans to witness this upcoming musical fiesta and lend a cheering hand to all participants, thus encouraging their singing talent and love for Konkani.
