Mangalore: VHP, Bajrang Dal to Stage Protest Against Cow Slaughter on November 15

Daijiworld Media Network- Mangalore

Mangalore, Nov 10:  VHP, Bajrang Dal  will hold massive protest rally against cow slaughter on Thursday November 15 at 3 pm from Jyothi circle to DC Office, said Kateel Dinesh Pai, divisional cow protection head, VHP. He was speaking at the press meet held in the press club on Saturday November 10.

“A memorandum was submitted to the DC, police commissioner, SP to bring an end to all the existing cow related issues before November 15. But officials have not carried out any satisfactory measures. All the cow related offences are being carried out as usual”, he said.

With the anti-cow slaughter Act, the police can easily take necessary steps to solve these issues. But the offenses are carried out in the district and state fearlessly. The main reason for this is the negligence of the officials and the police.

The protest is organized against cow slaughter, cow theft, illegal trafficking of cattle.

Speaking on this occasion, Jagadish Shenava, secretary of VHP, said that massive protest in this regard will be held in various other places like Udupi, Kodagu, Bantwal, Karkala, Puttur, Belthangady and other taluk centers on the same day.

Shree Rajashekarananda Swamiji, Vajradehi Mutt, Gurpur, Vedamurthy Kuntaru Shree Ravish Tantri, M B Puranik and Sharan Pumpwell will address the protestors. Ulipadiguttu Rajesh Nayak, will preside over the programme, he added.

Pradeep Pumpwell, district Go Raksha Pramukh and Gopal Kuthar, district secretary, VHP were also present on the occasion.

What nonsense... it seems people are using a dead cow for political advantage. It is ridiculous to stage protests for such matters that do not help in any sort of economic or social development of our society.

Bjp / RSS is making money by stopping cow slaughter there by cow meat is exported to other countries. Gujarat/ Rajasthan cows are exported to Middle East and the agents of export are leaders of BJP/ RSS of the particular state.

Firstly Mr.K.D.Pai should take the initiative and clear all Mangalore roads of stray cows and prove that he can take care of them until they die only then will he realise the issue? We are in a free country. Mr. KDP and the gentlemen on the dias are seeking cheap political propaganda. Instead concentrate on the traffic issue, footpath issue, upgrading of the taluk office issue instead of the COW issuu ?

Will they take all the old and unproductive cows and bulls to their own houses and take 'good' care of them till they die a natural death? Or do they expect the govt. to take care of the cows and bulls till their death by using the tax payers' money? Please also note that there are thousands of 'human beings' in our state without food and shelter and the govt. is not able to take care of them!

    To all those protesters:

Kindly protest to make cow slaughter legal and without permits.
Remover the permits for cow slaughter as we do not have permits for slaughtering pigs, sheep, chicken etc., etc.,
It is in the best interest of the public and for our economic growth.
The protesters also can consume good beef at any time and no need to hide and seek beef consumption.

Dear Bajrangi's ur Going against ur own religion.

Manusmriti (Chapter 5 / Verse 30) says, “It is not sinful to eat meat of eatable animals, for Brahma has created both the eaters and the eatables.”

Maharishi Yagyavalkya says in Shatpath Brahmin (3/1/2/21) that, “I eat beef because it is very soft and delicious.”

Apastamb Grihsutram (1/3/10) says, “The cow should be slaughtered on the arrival of a guest, on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ of ancestors and on the occasion of a marriage.”
Rigveda (10/85/13) s, “On the occasion of a girl’s marriage oxen and cows are slaughtered.”
Rigveda (6/17/1) states that “Indra used to eat the meat of cow, calf, horse and buffalo.”
Vashistha Dharmasutra (11/34) writes, “If a Brahmin refuses to eat the meat offered to him on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ or worship, he goes to hell.”

Hinduism’s greatest propagator Swami Vivekanand said thus: “You will be surprised to know that according to ancient Hindu rites and rituals, a man cannot be a good Hindu who does not eat beef”. (The Complete Works of Swami Vivekanand, vol.3, p. 536).

Adi Shankaracharya’ commentary on Brihdaranyakopanishad 6/4/18 says : ‘Odan’ (rice) mixed with meat is called ‘Mansodan’. On being asked whose meat it should be, he answers ‘Uksha’. ‘Uksha’ is used for an ox, which is capable to produce semen.
    · The book ‘The History and Culture of the Indian People’, published by Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Bombay and edited by renowned historian R.C.Majumdar (Vol.2, page 578) says: “this is said in the Mahabharat that King Rantidev used to kill two thousand other animals in addition to two thousand cows daily in order to give their meat in charity”.

In the 65 years of History of India I dont remember seeing or hearing any strike/dharna demanding Higher education, better government hospitals and better living conditions!!! We dont want to wake up even after 65 years!!!

A huge section of the populace depends on the livelihood of products obtained by Cow slaughter. Beef is the staple non-veg food for a larger section of middle class people who cannot afford chicken, mutton or seafood on a regular basis. Will the Government regulate other non-veg foods to compensate for the ban? Will it reduce Mutton and Chicken prices in this era of spiraling inflation?

What about the cattle that have grown old? The poor farmers who cannot afford to maintain them would look to stabling the old cattle at the government aided cattle homes that lack basic amenities. If cow slaughter ban is affected, there would be a humungous rush towards these shelter homes to dump the old and void cattle that are apparently of no use. Do they have sufficient cattle homes to accommodate them?

Beef is banned in Gujarat but beef and alcohol are available illegally and ultimately the government is losing out on the revenue since these are banned and there is no provision to collect taxes on illegal items. In addition to that corruption will increase as the people who carryout this business will bribe the authorities and continue their business without any obstacle.
