Mangalore, Nov 10: Printing images of gods and national leader on Diwali crackers and bursting them in public places should be stopped," said Ramananda Gowda of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti at a press meet here on Saturday, November 10.

“Strict rules should be enforced against usage of images of deities like Lakshmi, Vishnu, Krishna and others. As the crackers with these images are burnt and torn off, the remains of which finally end up being scattered everywhere on the roads, gutters and waste boxes, it is not acceptable”, he said.

"For publicity, some of the cracker manufacturers have named their products after Gods like Lakshmi bomb, Krishna bomb, Vishnu bomb, etc. There are particular rules about this which are not being followed. The government has to take proper measures to ensure that the rules are followed and also take necessary action against those who violate them," he said.

Speaking on the occasion, social activist Hanumantha Kamath said that there are particular rules pertaining to the use of crackers. "Crackers emitting loud noise and heavy smoke crackers and bursting of crackers in public places after 10 pm is not allowed," he said.

He said police never take steps against those who violate these rules. "Police are given enough vehicles to go on rounds, but they park it at some place and go to sleep. They should at least make the right use of the facilities on Diwali and take action against the violators in the coming days," he said.

Sukanya Acharya was also present at the press meet.

    @radhakrishna,
My comments meant no offence to Hindu believer. Of course where I come from (near moodbidri) ours is the only Christian family living with 3 Hindu families as the neighbours. During every Xmas we share our dinner with them and during every Hindu festival we go to their house. This applies to all good/bad occasions. We have a lovely relationship. What frustrates me is all these groups are just trying to find an excuse to sow the seed of enmity amongst undoubting, innocents Hindus/Christians and Muslims. This is why we need to root out these communal groups from our beautiful society. Hope you agree with me.

Well Done Hindu Janagaruti Samiti, According to vedas, god has no image, not only in crackers.

    "na tasya pratima asti
"There is no image of Him."
    [Yajurveda 32:3]

    "shudhama poapvidham"
    "He is bodyless and pure."
    [Yajurveda 40:8]
    `
    "Andhatama pravishanti ye asambhuti mupaste"
"They enter darkness, those who worship the natural elements"
(Air, Water, Fire, etc.). "They sink deeper in darkness, those who
    worship sambhuti."
    [Yajurveda 40:9]
Sambhuti means created things, for example table, chair, idol, etc.

"Ma cid anyad vi sansata sakhayo ma rishanyata"
"O friends, do not worship anybody but Him, the Divine One. Praise
    Him alone."
    [Rigveda 8:1:1]

    "Devasya samituk parishtutih"
"Verily, great is the glory of the Divine Creator."
    [Rigveda 5:1:81]

    Brahma Sutra of Hinduism:
"Ekam Brahm, dvitiya naste neh na naste kinchan"
"There is only one God, not the second not at all, not
at all, not in the least bit."

I request HJS members should undertake a weeks tour to Bangalore city in important localities such as Rajajinagar,Vijayanagar,RPC layout,Mysore Road Gudadahaiil, etc,to see how compound walls have fixed with titles of Hindu gods beautiful pictures. This to prevent urinsation by the people walking though that road.
Forget about Hindu Gods images on wrapers on crackers and ponder over the magnanimity of insult meted out by Hindus to Hindu Gods.I have not seen any gossip or protests over this these type of madness still prevelent in Indias once beautiful Garden city now turned Garbage city.Next it will be Dengu city.
There is a popular Tulu proverb "bele daanthina acha....baaleda pee....n kettiyege"This protest is just like that.
Let people instal Gods image in their hearts and spread the message of bilssfulness....

Hindu Janagaruti Samiti got up from sleep just now. Traditional fire crackers are manufactured in Sivakasi since many years ( nearly a century ) with permission of government. Lakshmi bomb. Vishnu chakra etc all famous since many years. If this is the case then why should people name their Children God's name? So many people with God's name commits crime and indulge in illegal activities. How do we justify that?

Govt should put some kind of restrictions on bursting crackers. Every year many people are losing eyes, ears and getting injuries in hands, legs etc.

    1. Time frame should be fixed. Bursting crackers After 10 PM and before 7 AM should not be allowed.

    2. Public places like roads, markets should not be allowed.

    3. Patakis which makes terrible sound should be banned. These are risky for heart patients and effect human ears badly.

    4. The Patakis (like rockets) which goes and explodes in some other location should be banned as the burster would not know where it will land in.

    5. The patakis which liberates harmful chemicals after the explosion should be banned.

    6. The violators should be given jail punishment till next deepawali as their silly mistakes makes others to suffer for lifetime.

Getting too much into religious business is not doing any good to our society. We are actually going back in history and trying to live in the past. Let us also focus on what is relevant to present day life and how to live in peace and harmony with one another in society. Let us try to create trust and friendship between all the religions. This is the need of the hour.

Dear Readers, No one can follow all these restrictions, God exists everywhere, As per Hindu religion Earth is called "BHOODEVI" still we step into it, we have no choice. Keep all these in our heart, don't disturb others if you can help others that is good, but don't cheat others. That's all. I think if we follow all these restrictions all consumable items will be sold in white packs only

I think it is unfair to print any god's images in the crackers after it's use goes to some unwanted place as said by HJS(Small doubt what about god's images printed in news peepers which end up in unwanted places?).On the other it is happening KSA also in Arabic news papers some of the KORANIC verses are printed for references after reading it goes to dustbin or some other public places which is unfair also. Therefore, newspapers which carrying God's images or holy verses should be handled as it deserves..
