Dubai, Nov 11: KanaraEntrepreneurs will felicitate M R Vasudeva, who retired as the Airport Director of Mangalore International Airport last month on Nov 12, 2012 during their joint event with a delegation from CCCI, Mumbai. This event will be graced by Sanjay Verma, the Consul General, Consulate General of India, Dubai.
It was during Vasudeva’s term that the Mangalore Airport turned around into a profit making airport. He was instrumental in building the 2nd runway to international standards, have international flights land in Mangalore, get a new integrated terminal built and get the international status for this airport.
His efforts in getting international flights have helped thousands of NRIs from coastal Karnataka and northern Kerala with direct flights from the Gulf – thereby reducing time of travel and costs. His efforts have won praises and awards from all sectors – whether it is the state government that awarded him with the ‘Rajotsava Award’ or voluntary and business organisations such as Lions Club, Rotary Club, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry and NRI organisations such as Kannada Sangha in Dubai.
Having worked closely with Vasudeva through the NRI forum led by Rajesh Sequeira in achieving the dream of getting international flights from Dubai to Mangalore, KEL is proud of his commitment as Director of Mangalore Airport and felicitate him during their program on Nov 12, 2012 in India Club at 6:30 pm.
