Bangalore: BJP's Patch up Effort with Yeddyurappa Fails

Bangalore: BJP's Patch up Effort with Yeddyurappa Fails

Bangalore, Nov 11 (PIT): A last ditch effort by BJP to prevent B S Yeddyurappa from quitting the party has apparently failed with the former Karnataka chief minister today sticking to his decision to float a new party on December nine.

Yeddyurappa, who was made to step down as the Chief Minister last year, virtually shut the doors of negotiations, declaring he has already travelled a lot of distance in moving away from BJP and that there was no change in his plans to launch his new regional party as planned on December nine at a rally at Haveri, some 350 km from here.

BJP leader Arun Jaitely, who arrived here last night, keeping his trouble-shooting mission under wraps, met Yeddyurappa at the residence of an RSS leader and tried to persuade the lingayat strongman to reconsider his decision to bid good bye to the party, BJP sources said.

Though, the sources said Yeddyurappa met Jaitley last night and that he ruled out any reconciliation, the former Chief Minister, however, refused to admit that such a meeting took place.

"There is no change in my plan to launch new party on December nine. Unmindful of whether anyone joins me on that day, I will go ahead with it. There is no question of looking back", Yeddyurappa told reporters at his residence here.

Yeddyurappa, who has been fuming at the BJP leadership at the Centre and in the state for "ill-treatment" meted out to him, said Jaitley was in the city to hold talks with him, but he did not meet him last night.

"I have respect for Jaitley. But there is no question of meeting any one or going back on my decision. I am not leaving BJP out of vengeance. I have certain dreams for Karnataka, which I could not realise when I was in BJP.

"Now I want to realise those dreams of making Karnataka a progressive state," he said. Yeddyurappa said he banked on the support of people.

The 70-year-old Karnataka leader, who had played a key role in installing the first-ever BJP government in the South, said he was not floating a new political outfit to become chief minister or get any other post.

He also ruled out the possibility of his accepting any position like chief ministership or party presidentship in BJP.

According to the party sources, Jaitley was expected to return to Delhi today.

BSY's main intention is to save his skin from scandals he is involved with. By breaking BJP, he hopes to get some breathing time. Any way, we common people are only suffering due to shameless and selfish politicians. Educated must shun religion/caste and corrupt men. Should only people who would help in welfare of the people and country. During 65 years of independece, I think, India made no progress. The wealth is hoarded in few hands. Poor have become poorer. Price of essentials sky rocketed. The situation will worsen if we blindly elect the people to govern us. Much of our tax goes on protecting goons and terrorists. The corrupt government is bankrupt. No money for development. How can we expect progress?. BSY should not get more than 3 votes i.e. one from himself, the second one from his spouse and the third one from his progeny. Being a RSS man, it proves how selfish and indisciplined he is?. Bcoz of him, the BJP has dug its own grave. Very sorry affair. But in politics every thing is possible. Every one wants chair.

BSY will go ahead with KJP formation for two reasons. To stay away from CBI and INC definitely needs few numbers to form Govt in Karnataka and BSY would provide that. Sonia and BSY have already signed a deal. Very bad politics.

This is a severe blow to BJP which came to power solely because of Lingayat vote which will now go to KJP and Operation Kamala which has now destroyed BJP from inside out. As usual coastal districts will vote for BJP but that wont get them to Vidhana Soudha. I predict either Cong JDS, KJP Cong or even JDS KJP BSR YSR Congress may form the govt. Anything is possible. Either ways after a long time so many permutations can be expected in Karnataka elections.

Dear BSY, Your departure is long due now. As it is whole nation is fed up of regional parties which hardly form government for longer run in any state. So if any party comes up on opportunity, they tend to sell thier seats for big money & make the political environment further corrupt. Hope all the people vote only for major parties to ensure single party Govt ruling.

    Kismail :), managlore,

First of all I like your name.

CONgress will get 75 only if Khajapa of BSY get 25 seats and gets more than 10,000 votes in another 75 seats to defeat BJP....which is highly unlikely.

I think it is not goinig to happen...CONgress and JDS might togeter make 113 setas if Yeddy's Khajapa gets more than 10,000 votes in 100 seats and wins in 25 seats bringing BJP to third position.

I heard from reliable sources,,, Hon'ble Chaaand Mohammed Ibrahim, already startd visiting tailor shops to stich new clothes for swearing in ceremony of CONgress-JDS coalation Government...and HDK is looking for new shawl(Bath Towel???) and new saree for Anita(or Radhika???)....

And some people in KSA drooling...,...

    Jai Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Yeddy did all the damages whatever or whichever manner he could do. Now whether he stays or leaves it doesn’t make any difference to BJP in Karnataka. Everybody knows, without their Parent Party support or Post they gained nothing so far whoever left the main National Political Party in India. Take the example of Sharad Pawar in Maharashtra or Mamata Deedi in Bengal, without the support of Congress Party they can’t withhold even in their State too. So, same thing will happen to Yeddy’s Party too. Attaining majority is out of question. Yes they can make some irritation for major Political Party with odd number of MLAs’ but anyhow they are not trustworthy in long run. So, it’s called “Anchilatte Inchillatte”

BSY forming the new party , for 2 main reason.
    1. stay away from CBI, he will support Cong's and CBI won't come into picture.
    2. he is very greedy for power, so any he know ,no party will get majority so he can be Key factor .

But only question is can Cong's get 75 plus seat next time.

Yediyurappa's anger is understandable. Yeddy was forced to resign from CM's post when he was accused of corruption and Advani strongly supported this move but when Gadkari was accused of corruption, BJP top brass supported Gadkari. This is nothing but double standards. And BJP High Command knows without Yeddy, BJP is nothing and hence Jaitley immediately rushed to Bangalore to pacify Yeddy. But it's too late now. Hope we will have good government in 2013 which will work for the development of Karnataka. People have to the best among Congress/BJP/KJP/Janata Dal. There is no difference between all these political parties when it comes to corruption.

Common people of Karnataka or Country are not concerned, Who joins whom and who leaves whom!
    Politicians run party affairs not
    people.
Tricky and manipulative politics time has gone. This era is of transferency!
People are concerned with their well being !
One who(team)delivers it will be voted and rewarded !
Politicians it is time to read pulse of people, who votes you to serve them and be their Good shepherd!
Every thing else will follow thereafter.

BSY's hit list contains four VIPs

    1) L K ADVANI

    2) ANANTH KUMAR

    3 ISHWARAPPA

    4 VENKAIH NAIDU

Above are major VIP individuals beside, CT/R Ashok and few 'chota tundu' BJP leaders.BSY want to show them that who is BSY in Karnataka? These people are enjoying power due to Yeddy factor in Karnataka.

As far as Compromise formula concerned,it is too late to patch up and if fortunately, able to patch up with BSY, then both parties are going to loose.

BSY decided to wreck BJP ship at any cost in Coming Assembly election and after teaching a costly lesson may rejoin mother party once again.

Arun Jaitley's final dashing to Bangalore to make up with BSY shows that with out BSY BJP may next to JDS!!!!
