Mangalore: Shooting for Tulu Movie 'Rikshaw Driver' Gets on Road

Mangalore, Nov 12: The muhurat for the new Tulu movie 'Rikshaw Driver' was held in the premises of the Mahatobhara Shree Mangaladevi Temple here Monday November 12.

The lamp was lit by the dignitaries K Lakshmi Narayana Asranna, chief priest of Kateel Temple, Fr Andrew D’Souza, B Nagaraj Shetty, JD(S) leader, Sadanand Shetty, founder and chairman, Shri Devi Educational Trust, Sulochani S Devadiga, owner, Sri Muttu Films and Praveen Kumar Konchady, producer of the movie.

To mark the occasion, the camera was switched on by Sulochani S Devadiga and the first muhurat clap was given by Lakshmi Narayana Asranna.

The other dignitaries’ present on the dais were U T Khader, S R Shetty Bedra, Rathindranath, Naveen D Padil, Vijay Kumar Kodiyalbail, Sridhar Devadiga, Saikrishna, Stany Alvares, P Ramanath Hegde, K Sanjeeva Poojary, Ramachandra Baikampady, T Sanjeeva Moily, Richard Castelino, Francis Pinto, Rajesh M, Rajanna, Chandrakanth Naik, Dr Annayya Kulal, Karthik Banjan, Roopika, Ha Su Rajshekar and Vahab Saleem Puttur.

The guests congratulated the movie crew and the actors, and wished for its success. The occasion was blessed by Lakshmi Narayana Asranna and Fr Andrew D’Souza.

The producer of the movie, Praveen Kumar Konchady spoke on the occasion and promised to give the best to the public through this movie.

S R Shetty who is part of the movie crew, singer Rajesh M, and art director Keshava Suvarna were felicitated on the occasion.

The film will be shot within 30 days in and around Mangalore, Bangalore, Kasargod, Madikeri and other places.

Karthik Banjan, Roopika, Sara Sharma, Jenny, Avinash, Suresh Mangalore, Naveen D Padil, S R Shetty Bedra, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Umanath Kotian, Stany Alvares Pacchanady and other well known artistes are part of the movie.

Artistes and well-wishers were present on the occasion.

    Year 2012 proved best year ever for TULU cinema. So many movies released and some are under production. People understood, even tulu movies can compete against other languages in cinema market & investing money. This is really a good sign.

    Hats off & All the best to all Tulu movie producers... Keep going !!!

    Please Look at overseas market as well, mainly in Gulf countries. There are lot of Tulu movie lovers in Gulf.
