Dubai: Alumni of Vijaya College, Mulky Relive Fond Memories

Dubai, Nov 13: Alumni of Vijaya College Mulky relived fond memories as they met and greeted each other as well as the management and professors of the College, during a reunion at Fortune Plaza Hotel, Al Qusais recently.

Guests included A A R Kudva, chairman of managing committee, Prof K R Shanker, principal, Prof Sam Maben, former principal, Roshan Mulky, physical director, and Shamina Alva, general secretary of old students' association.

Sarvotham Shetty, an eminent social worker and ardent supporter from Abu Dhabi welcomed the guests and advised the old students to meet regularly, build up network and form an association.

Sathish Poojary, a former student of the college greeted the guests and shared his experience during his college days and requested the fellow students to extend their wholehearted support for the noble cause set by the College.

Chairman A A R Kudva, in his address, briefed the vision and mission of the College, how it started and went on to meet the expectations of students at in every aspect of education.

"The College is currently providing free food and education for a few deserving students with the support of local donors. We would like to provide this facility more students, and thereby appeal to old students to extend their support to this noble cause," he said.

He further informed that the College is preparing for a grand diamond jubilee celebration in 2013, and invited all the old students to join in as life members and be part of the grand event. "The alumni of the College have formed old students' associations in Mumbai and Bangalore and are performing excellently," he added.

Principal Prof K R Shankar and former principal Prof Sam Maben, in their speech, explained the facilities available, infrastructure and the capacity of the College, and praised the management and staff. Due to their support and co-operation, today, the College is performing excellently and producing great number of ranks in every level. Besides, the College is one of the forerunners in co-education and extracurricular activities, they said.

Sathish Poojary and Sampath Shetty were felicitated for their excellent support and co-ordination.

Roshan Mulky compered the programme and Shamina Alva proposed the vote of thanks.

Management of Vijaya College Mulky is planning to form an overseas old students' association in Dubai.
