Bantwal: Auto Driver Sattar Sets Example of Honesty, Yet Again

Bantwal: Auto Driver Sattar Sets Example of Honesty, Yet Again

Mounesh Vishwakarma
Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal

Bantwal, Nov 15: Auto rickshaw driver Abdul Sattar, known for his honesty and integrity, has yet again proved through his actions that honesty is a virtue still prevalent in a world ridden with falsehood.

Son of Abdul Rahiman and resident of Goodinabali, Sattar this time returned not one but two bags with valuables and money to their rightful owners.

In the first incident, a lady identified as Lalitha Salian was waiting at B C Road bus stand along with her family, about to board the night bus to Bangalore. She climbed the bus in a hurry, forgettingt to take her purse containing cash and mobile phone in the process, and leaving it lying at the bus stop.

Fortunately for her, Sattar who was nearby noticed that she had left behind her purse, and immediately rushed to the bus stop. He grabbed the purse and brought it to the attention of the woman's family members who were about to board the bus. The lady identified the bag which contained valuables, mobile phone and important documents. Relieved that she had got it all back, she thanked Sattar profusely and offered to reward him, but he refused.

In another incident, Vijaya Rao, a teacher in Bantwal's SVS English Medium School who hired Sattar's auto from B C Road to Shambhur-Narikombu, left behind her bag in the passenger seat of the auto rickshaw. The bag contained a gold chain, cash and mobile phone.

On alighting from the auto, Vijaya forgot to take her bag, only to realise it later. However, she knew Sattar's address, and along with her husband went to his house.

Sattar had not returned home yet. Vijaya then obtained Sattar's mobile number from his wife and explained the situation. Sattar searched his auto rickshaw and found the missing bag. He immediately rushed home and returned the valuable bag to its owner, with all its contents intact. This time too, he was offered a reward for his honesty by the happy couple, but again he refused.

Sattar has on several occasions set an example with his honesty and bravado. Earlier, he has returned 15 sovereigns and 9 sovereigns of gold in two separate incidents, and has even saved a small child from drowning in the Netravati river, for which Kolya Swamiji had hailed him as 'Netravati Veera'.

Nice to hear about Abdul Sattar, but why he is refusing the reward ? When he makes people happy through his honesty, he too make the people happy by keeping him self happy. It is not a bribe, it's a token of appreciation, and he should not upset his guest. Hope he will learn how to keep the relationship. I was always thinking to meet him and felt like to give gift of token but when I read on the news, am sad. Anyway, God bless him his family with good health also prosper in his daily work and business. Amen

So here in this world u refuse the reward but ALLAH's REWARD will be other than this small reward. So I pray ALLAH that make each and every human being to follow TRUTH AND HONESTY AND SINCERITY. So it is a examination towards u from ALLAH and in future I want to see your lucky rickshaw and your lovely face in daiji world with the arm of truth.
