Mangalore: Prasad Shetty Wins Gold, Title in State-level Powerlifting Championship

Mangalore, Nov 15: In an impressive performance, Prasad Shetty of Mangalore won the gold medal and the title of ‘Strong Man of Karnataka 2012’ at the state-level competition conducted by Indian Powerlifting Federation recently at Kundapur.
Prasad Shetty contested in the 59 kg class and his total weight lifted during the competition was 525 kg.
It may be recalled that Prasad Shetty had won one gold and two bronze medals at the Asian International Power Lifting Championship held at Kobe city in Japan in December last year.
A resident of Kodialguthu, Prasad Shetty is the son of K Chandrahas Shetty, a city-based businessman, and Shashi Shetty.
