Actress-Turned-Politician Pooja Gandhi Gets Engaged

Bangalore, Nov 16: Actress Pooja Gandhi of 'Mungaru Male' fame on Thursday November 15 got engaged to Bangalore-based realtor Anand Gowda amidst a private gathering of family and close friends.

The engagement function was held at her residence in Banashankari. 

Dressed in red sari with reddish-golden border and a modest amount of jewellery, Pooja was all smiles as she exchanged rings with Anand, who she had been dating for quite sometime. 

"I am getting aged and I thought it is right time to settle in life," Pooja, who is also JD(S) leader, said after the engagement.

Anand Gowda, a realtor by profession, is the son of L C Ashok and Harinakshi Ashok. He is a divorcee and has an elder sister. He has also financed a few Kannada films.

Only actress Padmaja was invited from the Kannada film fraternity.

The marriage will take place sometime next year, after the marriage of Anand Gowda's sister which is to take place soon.

"This is a special moment in my life and I am feeling on top of the world," Gandhi told a magazine after the engagement.

When contacted, an elated Gandhi told Daijiworld that her marriage will not come in the way of her career and that she will continue to be active both in films as well as politics.
