Mangalore: Samarth Shenoy to Spellbind City for a 'Positive' Cause

Mangalore, Nov 16: Ace stunt performer Samarth Shenoy is all set to spellbind Mangaloreans with  'Jadoo Sanje', a 120-minute magic show to be held at C V Nayak Hall here on Sunday November 18 at 6 pm.

Addressing the a press meet here on Friday, November 16, Samarth Shenoy said that the magic show would be held in memory of his mother, social activist and Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee Veenadhari, who had fought for the cause of AIDS patients.

"The show will be for a duration of two hours, from 6 pm at 8 pm. The tickets are priced Rs 200 and Rs 100, and the proceeds of the show will be handed over to Sanjeev, a social activist and an HIV-positive himself, who is working for the cause of other HIV patients. The funds will be set aside for 10 HIV-positive kids who are in need of basic requirements," he said.

"This is for the first time I am hosting a show in Mangalore for the general public. Earlier I have hosted shows, but for corporates and private functions only. It was my mother’s dream to organize a grand magic show and contribute to the society and for the cause of HIV," he added.

Samarth is an award winning magician and has been practicing for nearly 13 years. He has performed over a 1000 shows and has toured several countries like Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy and Tanzania.

His recent stunts were milk can escape and riding a bike blindfolded from Mysore to Mangalore (310 km) without food and water in 11 hours. This feat was declared a Limca Record and will be published in the 2013 edition of Limca Book of Records.

Spandana HD will be the media partner and Big 92.7 FM the radio partner. Corporation Bank, Hippo, Parle Agro, Hangyo Ice Cream, Hotel Maya International, Ideal Ice Cream and Suvidha Homes will be the sponsors of the event.

Sanjeeva, Rehman Khan and Hemanth were present.
