M'lore: 'Vijaya Karnatak-Ideal Muddu Kanda-2012' Prize Distribution Ceremony Held

Mangalore, Nov 17: The prize distribution ceremony of the 'Vijaya Karnatak-Ideal Muddhu kanda-2012' was held in CBOO Hall near Kala Kunj on Friday November 16.

M N Rajendra Kumar, president, SCDCC Bank and Navodaya Charitable Trust was the chief guest.

The programme was presided over by Mukund Prabhu, partner, Ideal Ice cream. Permude Mohan Kumar, drawing teacher, Urwa Canara High School, Dr Gaatha Upadya, assistant professor, KMC Skin division, Ramakrishna D, veteran manager, response division, Times VPL Ltd, were the guests of honour.

The prizes were distributed to the winners. Totally 4508 photos were received this year.

The first place was bagged by Anvi Nayak Hiriyadka, Udupi, Aayush R Nayak of Brahmavara bagged the second place, M Pratham Pai, Mudrady, Karkala bagged the third place.

Krishna Prasanna Mayya, Anaga, Spoorthi Nayak and Aryan received the best child prizes. Other 30 children also received the best 30 prizes.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajendra Kumar said that there is hidden talent in every child. "No one knows what a particular child will become after he or she grows up, so it is better to leave them free to choose their own field", he said.

Mukund Prabhu said that it was very tough for the selection team to choose the best, as all the photos received were outstanding. "But the selection has been done very transparently", he said. He wished the very best to the winners and the participants.

U K Kumarnath, resident editor, VK Mangalore welcomed the gathering. The programme was compered by Raveendra Shetty, veternery reporter. V K Mohammed Arif, principal correspondent, delivered the vote of thanks.
