Abu Dhabi – Nov. 20: The date and the location is set for the most awaited event of the year 2013 - “The Agnesian/Aloysian Re-union 2013” which will be held at the picturesque location of Golden Tulip – Al Jazira Hotel & Resort – Ghantoot, on the Dubai-Abu Dhabi High way on Friday 01 February 2013.
This was revealed recently by James and Jacintha Mendonca Chairpersons of Aloysians and Agnsians respectively, during a meeting held in Dubai.
The glamorous extravaganza - the re-union of former students of both the prestigious institutions of Mangalore - St. Agnes and St. Aloysius will be a day of fun and entertainment.
The Colleges of St. Aloysius and St. Agnes in the city of Mangalore, Karnataka, are two leading and renowned educational institutions in the region, with their inception going back to as early as the 1800s and 1900s respectively. Additionally, they have also produced very successful and world class personalities and great stalwarts who have made Mangaloreans as well as whole of India proud.
In this context and because of the large presence of its Alumni within the Indian diaspora in the UAE, the Agnesian and Aloysian Alumni (UAE Chapter) Organizing Committee, that was formed in the year 1997, felt that it would be opportune to have an Alumni Meet / Reunion, once in two years, in order to reminisce the wonderful memories of the yester years. This entailed the ex-students coming together along with their families for a full day of fun, frolic, laughter and entertainment. Such an event was last held in February 2011 and which, besides been hugely successful, was able to optimally use the synergies that were forthcoming from the ex-students; in the field of entertainment.
The day long event will be an excellent opportunity for the alumnae/alumni’s to meet, greet and share their past and present, among the long lost friends, whom they have not met for ages.
It can be recalled that the Aloysians started this concept of get-togethers outside India for the first time in 1997 and later Agnesians joined them in presenting a unique entertainment package attracting large number of former students based in UAE year after year since then. The fillip given by the Aloysians in 1997, and the concept is now spread all over the Gulf and other parts of the world and fellow Alumnae and Alumni are organizing these type of events from time to time.
Having achieved record success in preceding years, the Alumni/alumnae of both colleges are charged to present a day of unparalled fun, with the fantastic exclusive band consisting of all Aloysians and Agnesian musicians and singers to bring the back the memories of good old days of fun at their respective college campuses.

To top it all the dynamic Master of Ceremony the incomparable Neville D’Souza - will compere the event and will be back in action after a gap of few years to handle the daylong event with his own inimitable style.
This event in UAE is held once in two years and always been a sellout show. The highlight and unique nature of the show is that the past students themselves perform on stage with their own band and provide songs, music and other entertainment The day will be fun filled with team games, with unique concepts with lots of prizes to be won through various competitions and spot prizes. The action-packed day is an excellent opportunity also to be away from the hustle & bustle of day to day life.
This re-union will be exclusively for the old students and their families
The event is taking place after exactly two years and has already generated lot of curiosity among the alumnae/alumni. Every event held in the past have come up with unique entertainment packages with lot of surprises.
The ever popular Chairpersons James and Jacintha Mendonca of Aloysians and Agnesians respectively, are positive and have made their intention clear and are hopeful that the forth coming event will be well remembered for many many years to come. They also urge and expect the attendees to involve themselves and be part of the fun-filled day.
St. Aloysius and St. Agnes - the two prestigious institutions have impacted the lives of thousands of students, regardless of their religion, culture, and ethnic background in their cultural, educational and intellectual values.
The organizers have also requested the former students based in UAE to register their names online, which will be used as a data base for former students based in UAE.
