The accused beat up Pavithran while he was preparing breakfast in the kitchen. He was admitted to Kasargod general hospital.

The accused reportedly attacked the warden with a sickle and police sticks. Amongst the four, three are said to have jumped over the rear wall, while one escaped from front wall with the help of a pole.

As per the information received, Mohammed Iqbal was arrested for murdering his wife and daughter three years back, Mohammed Rasheed was a chain snatcher who was arrested by Manjeshwar police for snatching chain belonging to a woman in Mangalore, and Rajesh and Rajan were arrested by excise police.

The search operation is on and lookout noticed is been issued by the department. Notice has been given to police stations of Karnataka and Kerala state.

The capacity of the jail is for 28 prisoners; however there are presently 58 undertrials. In addition, there are only four wardens to keep an eye on them, which was the main reason for the incident.

A team has been formed comprising ASP T K Shabu, T B Ranjith, Kumble circle inspector, and Suresh Kumar, Adoor circle inspector, and five sub-inspectors to look for the accused.

Prison break stories are very stimulating and this one is for real. But more than statergy and planning , violence is involved . They better keep themselves underground , if they caught they could be chargsheeted again , making things worse . I feel they should have waited for bail or parole than taking this drastic steps. One of the best prison ALCATREZ also broken several times , no jail walls are strong enough for dreaded criminals.

This is very dangerous. You can murder, steal, snatch in India and get out of it by Court ruling but manhandling a policeman and escaping is sin. God only knows whats in store for these 4 escapees.
