Muscat: MCCP Annual Dance Contest a Resounding Success

Muscat, Nov 22:
The Mangalorean Catholic Center of the Parish (MCCP - Sts Peter and Paul Church, Ruwi) under the leadership of Lawrence Alva, president for the year 2012, 2013, organized an annual dance competition for its members recently at the main parish hall of Sts Peter and Paul Church, Ruwi.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Astrin D'Silva, current cultural secretary of MCCP and then an opening prayer which was led by Frederick Castelino, spiritual secretary of MCCP.

'Parameshwara', a CD comprising the legendary Konkani songs was released by Oswald D'Souza known as the prince of the Konkani music world and famous composer and singer of the Konkani world, Apolinaris D'Souza. Oswald D'Souza and Apolinaris D'Souza were felicitated by Clita Crasta, vice-president, Cultural Spiritual and Community Services and Ajit Walder, vice-president, Sports and Finance Committees.

Introduction of the eminent judges was done by Sonia Martis, general secretary of MCCP, Dolphy Frank, honorary treasurer and Valentina Rodrigues, Community Services secretary. The judges were Mark Redwood, Judy Pinto and Stawin Fernandes who have been good choreographers and well-known dance prodigies of Muscat.

Dance competition for various categories was held very systematically and children and adults participated in the competition with community spirit and unity.

Astrin D'Silva proposed the vote of thanks. The judges of the competition, Mark Redwood, Judy Pinto and Stawin Fernandes, were honored with mementos by Clita Crasta.

    Dear MCCP team,
    Wonderful entertainment !

    An event meant for all age Groups!

    The Sound system was great, That brought in the best in every particpant & audience were expecting the best dance one after the other..... all glued to the stage.
    Although we were around for a brief period to see Group A & B solo,enjoyed every moment of it.
    MCCP Wonderful Job Indeed on time managememt.

    Great Event MCCP. Young and Old, many first timers on the stage... thoroughly enjoyed the participation. The time management was great... once again applaud for this meticulous ution.
    Eulabai & Donyab... u both look graceful and adorable! Thanks for your hardwork and tireless efforts. The Enthusiasm and energy you portrayed during practice is commendable ... definitely the talented members should shy away for not participating! All other team members, thank you very much for your support and efforts. We were the crowd favourite. Keep up the spirit...!

    Photo 10- To which song/tune did this fearsome(after paint!) foursome dance to?
    Looks like they are dance masters and their hubbies will surely agree! nice to see kids in particular enjoy and dance....
