Mangalore, Nov 22:
On the occasion of silver jubilee celebrations of Maruthi Yuvaka Mandala, Ullal, the club will organize its maiden beach festival at Ullal beach on Saturday November 24 and Sunday November 25.

Speaking about the new school building, he said that the building project was initially started with a budget of Rs 45 lac, but now the total cost incurred is Rs 1.25 crore. The school presently consists of 521 children.

Bharath Kumar in his address gave a brief introduction on the activities of Maruthi Yuvaka Mandala over the past 25 years. He said that the association has contributed vastly to the society. "The association has conducted blood camps, health checkups, provided health benefits, free books and uniform to students and so on. Rs 20 lac for the school building has been funded by the club members from their earnings which is commendable," he said.

The beach festival has been organized at a budget of Rs 35 lac. "The government has not funded even a single rupee for the festival. The funds for the festival have been collected from well wishers and donors," he said.

Most of of the REGISTERED YUVAKA MANDALA in twin districts are either defunct or in low profiles due to two reasons
1)The apathy of youth and Sports Ministry
2)Communal groups(Hindu and Muslim) replacing these voluntary orgs.
Remedies...1) Yuvaka Manbdalas are registered under Society Act/Youth service Govt of Karnataka and NEHARU YUVA KENDRA, need to be given grants to social/sports activities annually.
2)One village one Yuvaka Manadala and the president of youth club automatically granted membership of Village Panchayat/Municipal council with voting rights.
3)Taluk level/District level/State level Best youth clubs and best Youths should be honored with cash award(the system is there but in low profile)
4)All registered Youth Clubs provided with Land and Build for their activities by the department.
5)All Yuvaka Manadal's OKKOOTA (taluk level and District level Yuvajana Okkoota)formed and officially recognized by concerned departments(Taluk/District/yuvajanaokkootas are not recognized by Govt till now ?)
Finally, these Yuvaka Mandals are true representatives of society promoting peace,coexistence/secularism and social services .So govt should give a thought to strengthen Yuvaka Mandalas in rural areas.

COMINING TO MARUTHI YUVAKA MANDALA ULLALA,ON IT'S SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATION, I WOULD LIKE TO CONGRATULATE FOR BEING IN SERVICE FOR SUCH A LONG PERIOD HAVING LITTLE SUPPORT FROM GOVT!!!

Excellent initiative by Maruthi Yuvaka Mandala, Ullal. Hats off to them and their members who have collected funds from donors with their own efforts. The fascinating Ullal Beach Festival will surely attract festival lovers to have a good time. In the years to come, this will develop tourism and generate employment to the people from Ullal. If there is proper publicity, even foreigners can come and have a good time. With government backing and few good hotels built by Mangalore's builders in Ullal we should see a complete success of the Beach Festival. Once again congrats to Bharath and his team.
