Bhatkal: Bangalore Student Drowns in Murudeshwar Beach

Bhatkal, Nov 25: A 21-year-old student drowned in the Murdeshwer beach on Saturday November 24. The boy, who was swimming in the beach with his friends, was swept away by a huge wave.

The deceased has been identified as Lokesh Kumar of Bangalore. He was a first year BA student at Vasavi Janna Peeta Evening College.

It is learnt that on Saturday, he went to Murdeshwer beach along with nine members after visiting Sigandur Temple near Sagar at around 4 pm. He was swimming in the beach when a huge wave swept him away.

The body is kept in RNS Hospital Murdeshwer. The family members of the deceased are on the way to Bhatkal.

It is learnt that majority of the members in the group were students of Vasavi Janna Peeta Evening College Bangalore
