Mangalore: Bajpe Souharda Ceremony Unites People Through Music

Mangalore, Nov 25: On the occasion of the third anniversary of Mashara Friends, ‘Bajpe Souharda Ceremony’ a musical evening was held at Bajpe here on Saturday November 24.
Ravikumar S, assistant commissioner of police, Panambur inaugurated the programme by releasing a pigeon while Ghulam Ahmed, executive president, JD(S) Udupi district presided over the programme.
As part of the programme, financial aid was given by the Mashara Friends to four people suffering from kidney ailment.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Ravikumar appreciated the club members for helping kidney patients. He also lauded them for organizing such a beautiful programme and thereby uniting all sections of people.
On the occasion, the dignitaries on the dais honoured M R Vasudeva, former director of Mangalore International Airport, A Sadananda Shetty, chairman of Shri Devi Educational institution, Rithesh Shetty, vice-president of DK zilla panchayat, Sahul Hameed, president of Bajpe gram panchayat and Abdul Aziz Baikampady, president of All-India Beary Parishat for their contribution to society.
Acknowledging the honour, M R Vasudeva said, "Instead of honouring me, it would be of more apt if the honour had been bestowed on MLA Abhayachandra Jain as he played an important role in getting international tag to Bajpe airport."
He also urged people to extend their support to the present airport director and asked members of Mashara Friends to help as many kidney patients as possible.
As part of the third anniversary celebration, a musical evening was performed by prominent singers of a Kerala-based troupe which enthralled the audience.
