Riyadh: BARSA Celebrates 11th Anniversary

Riyadh, Nov 27: Bunts Association Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (BARSA) celebrated its 11th year anniversary joyfully and with fun and communion on November 16.

The ambience in the hall wore a festive traditional look with twinkling lights, bunch of balloons and the aroma of fruits giving a fitness remedy to all the invitees along with endearing and enthusiastic performance in a spectacular event.





The chief guest of honor was given to Santosh Shetty, vice president of MASA (Dammam). His short speech rendered appreciation to the members and assured to bind members from the Eastern province (Dammam and Al Khobar).

The function began with lighting of lamp by Santosh Kadya Shetty (Kalathur Angadiguthu) the BARSA president and the other executive members of the association.

Jagdish Shetty (Madhya Guthu)  welcomed the members on stage with his wise wit and humor which surely did the trick in grabbing the audience attention for the rest of the event.

On behalf of BARSA family Santosh, the president sought blessings from most respectable and senior members of the association: Vijay Rai and Ramesh Shetty. He then addressed the gathering with an important message of unity and communication among the people residing in the Kingdom.

Master of ceremony Manikya A Shetty and BARSA general secretary Prakash Shetty fired up the dais with their charm and introduced every family members of BARSA on stage to the tunes of Om Shanthi Om. Simultaneously the tiny tots, youth and  the adults were actively participating in various funfilled games and won many fabulous prizes.

Vice president Mahesh Hegde took up the lead on the sunny noon in registering the members for a lucky draw.

Senior executives of the association Mr. Vijay Rai and Mr. Ramesh K Shetty welcomed guests from the bunts group from the neighboring city Dammam with flowers and gifts as their token of appreciation.

Mallika D Mada and Shobitha S Shetty and their troops after days of training, given to home maker women, children and youth of BARSA grooved to the vibrant music, breath taking colors and highly coordinated movement set to the tune of various Bollywood numbers like Jiya Jale, Balle Balle, Disco Deewane, etc... 

The event made a remarkable moment to the children and triggered the child within the youth and housewives.

The artists: Shivprasad Shetty, Madhav Shetty, Varun Shetty, Deepak
Shetty and Master Vaishnav  presented tradition of Tulunadu – Pili Vesha which uplifted the realm of the association.

As the sun was setting down the cool breeze blew the grounds of kingdom with energetic match between ladies for throw ball and men for volleyball.

BARSA vice president Mahesh Hegde extended his heartfelt appreciation for the success of the event and thanked the Chief Guest, volunteers and community members for their participation and hard work.

Finally, he thanked every invitees and sponsors for their generosity and support, including Middle East dairy product giants Al-marai and frozen food specialist Al-Kabeer for keeping the guests occupied with their delicious refreshments.

    Had a great day and memorable one in BARSA's 11th Anniversary celebration, which was celebrated with keeping our tradition intact. Great effort by the team members and their excellent commitment in uniting the Bunts community in Saudi Arabia. Great leadership by the president Santosh Shetty, Ramesh Shetty and Vijay Rai. Excellent poetry by Mahadevanna and great introduction with great command in Tulu by Jagadish Shetty. Of Course Pili Vesha....Over all great experience being in Saud Arabia.

    BARSA's 11th anniversary celebration was fitting finale to this year's spectacular events hosted throughout the year.The gala ceremony showcased the unparalleled vigour and exuberance of our committed members. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every member of our organisation, our revered guests from Dammam and our sponsors for the day for their patronage.
    The maxim" TEAMWORK LEADS TO SUCCESS" was truly reflected on this day.

    Congratulations to BARSA for organizing such a wonderful event. That day the total atmosphere was in a festive mode and the fine blend of Bunts customs and traditions were predominantly visible in venue, costumes, programs and delicious food severed.
    I whole heatedly thank BARSA President Mr. Santhosh Shetty, Office Bearers and Members for inviting Bunts of the Eastern Province to witness such a magnificent event and facilitating each and every member of the visiting team. My special thanks to Mr. Jagadish Shetty for his hospitality shown to us during our stay.
    Hope soon each and every Bunt living in Saudi Arabia will become the part of BARSA and BARSA will represent whole Bunts of Saudi Arabia.

    BARSA needs appreciation and kudos for the way they keep our Rich Traditions alive in an alien land.Its not so easy to have any kind of entertainments/gatherings, but the efforts with which BARSA celebrated their 11th anniversary must be appreciatred by one and all. The lovely pictures shows the theme of unity within the community and I congratulate BARSA once again for keeping our tulunada Flag flying high in KSA. Also Congratulations to BARSA president and all the managing committe members & all members of BARSA for the success of their 11th Anniversary.
