Dubai: Goenchim Noketram to Perform at Radio Spice 'Harmony 2012'

Dubai, Nov 27: Internationally-acclaimed Goenchim Noketram, a Goan folk and musical troupe will showcase its talents in Dubai with 'Harmony 2012 - Celebrating Friendship', to be held on Thursday November 29 at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in Indian High School.
The event will be held under the auspices of the premier and popular radio station 105.4 Radio Spice, Dubai.
On the special invitation from the UAE ministry of information and culture and the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi, the troupe is on a visit to the UAE from November 24 to December 7 for the 41st National Day celebrations.
Radio Spice 105.4, Dubai has taken the onus of having Goenchim Noketram present the show in Dubai, with the aim of bringing Mangaloreans, Goans and the various Indian communities together under one roof to celebrate the unity of the people of India. The show intends to bring out the feeling of ‘we belong together’ and stress that this sentiment should come from within.
The programme will commence at 7:30 pm (gates open 6:30 pm). The chief guest will be Lokesh Mysore Kapanaiah, Ambassador of India to the United Arab Emirates.
Harmony-2012 is expected to be witnessed by approximately 2000 guests, who would not only have the enthralling performances of the Goenchim Noketram troupe to enjoy, but also other exciting items such as early bird gifts, best ethnic dress prize for male and female and special novelty attractions.
The organizers have meticulously planned each minute of the programme that is sure to be relished to the fullest.
Goenchim Noketram is a globally recognized Goan group, having performed and represented India in Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Paraugay, Bahrain, besides different places in India itself. The leader of the troupe – Marianela Mascarenhas Dias – is a lecturer in Chemistry and has Grade-6 qualifications in Pianoforte and Theory of Music from the Royal School of Music, London. In addition, Marianela has passed the Solfeigio with honours.
Goenchim Noketram, under the leadership of Marianela, has given a total of 23 international shows, in addition to 14 national and a number of shows on state level, besides performing at various Mando festivals.
