Udupi, Nov 28: Leena Mathias, senior member of Congress party has been chosen as joint secretary of Karnataka Women Congress.

Manjula Naidu, president of state Women Congress made the appointment,
 
Leena Mathias hails from Shirva in Udupi district. She has earlier served as vice-president of undivided Dakshina Kannada district parishad.
 
A press release stated that under the guidance of Congress national president Sonia Gandhi, the All India Congress strengthens women in every fields like politics, social, education, economically and brings them into the administrative sector. Leena Mathias has thus been provided with the responsibility of strengthening the party.
