Mangalore: Felix D'Souza New President of District Jayashrikrishna Samiti

Mangalore, Nov 28: Felix D’Souza has been appointed Dakshina Kannada district president of Jayashrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti, an NGO.

This was announced by Dr B M Hegde, honarary president of the committee at a press meet here on Wednesday November 28.

"The association has been helping in the overall development of the district in various ways. The new president had been working in Mumbai and has recently settled in Mangalore," he said.

"Humble and open, Felix has been in engaged social service and has been a part of various like-minded associations in Mumbai," he added.

"The association has planned to undertake several development and social works in the future under the able leadership of the new president. The recent activity of the association has been to encourage ban on the use of plastic bags, an eco-friendly initiative by the Mangalore City Corporation," he added.

The team will work to create awareness among the public regarding the problems caused by plastic by way of distributing nearly 50,000 free non-plastic eco-friendly bags in malls and other places.

Jayakrishna Shetty, Felix D’Souza and Ashwath Hegde were also present.
