Udupi: Miraculous Escape for Driver, Cleaner as Lorry Turns Turtle

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Nov 29: A driver of a lorry and its cleaner had a miraculous escape after the lorry turned turtle on NH 66  near Tekal Thota at Katapady here on Thursday November 29.

A lorry transporting rice from Kalasa to Mangalore turned turtle after its driver lost control.

The rice bags which were in lorry were thrown off due to the impact of the accident. Rice was scattered all over the road.

Luckily, both the driver and the cleaner escaped unhurt.

It is said that incomplete road widening work on the national highway at Katapady led to accident. As no divider has been installed near the turning at Tekal Thota, accidents have become a common occurence at this spot, said the locals, urging the authorities to take appropriate measures at the earliest.

Kaup police have registered a case.

The NH.66 can also be tagged as on of the dangerous roads of the"WORLD" as compared to the death which have taken place due to horrific accident's in a very short period and almost all accidents were involved with reckless driving of the UDUPI MANGALORE buses.

There is lot of confusion while driving from udupi to mangalore due to unfinished road. You need to be cautious these days. ( vehicle comes all over the place. there is no sign board ). Again it shows how our local representative take care of their constituency. They wake up when election comes.
