Mangalore, Dec 1: “The annual feast of Blessed Joseph Vaz Shrine at Mudipu will be held at Miracle Hill from December 5 to 7. In preparation for the feast of Blessed Joseph Vaz, five-day Novena will be held from November 30 to December 4”, said Fr Rajesh Madtha, assistant parish priest.

He addressed the media persons at a press meet held at press club on Saturday December 1.

Fr Madtha said that the votive offering procession (Vojyancho Purshanv) will be taken at 3.30 pm from Mudipu Church to Blessed Joseph Vaz Shrine at Miracle Hill on December 2.

Fr Denis Prabhu, vicar general of diocese of Mangalore, Fr Vinod Lobo, assistant Parish Priest of Immaculate Conception Church, Kinnigoly, and Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore will be the main celebrants for the grand three-day celebration, he said.

The theme for the feast is ‘Faith is the foundation of the family’.

On December 5, 6 and 7, the main mass will be held at 10.30 am and other masses will be held at 4 pm and 6.30 pm. Before each mass there will be adoration to the Blessed Sacrament.

Special prayers will be offered for the sick, the poor and for the special intentions of the donors. On December 7, there will be ‘Anna Santharpane’ to all the devotees from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm.

Felix D’Souza, vice president, Stanly Bantwal, member of publicity committee, Arun D’Souza, member of shrine’s executive committee among others were present.
