Narendra Modi Fit to be PM: Sushma

Vadodara/New Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS): BJP leader Sushma Swaraj Saturday said that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had the capability to be prime minister, triggering speculation about him taking a more central role in the party after the December state assembly elections.

The BJP did not have a line on a prime ministerial candidate but Modi was fit to be prime minister, she told reporters in Vadodara.

"He is capable, there are no two views about it," said Sushma Swaraj, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha.

Sushma Swaraj, who is also seen as a contender for the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, said that the party would win the two-phase Gujarat assembly polls to be held Dec 13 and 17.

Her comments are likely to come as a boost for Modi amid questions in the party on giving a second term to BJP president Nitin Gadkari.

Gadkari is facing a probe over financial dealings of his Purti Group.

BJP leaders have maintained that a decision on the prime ministerial candidate will be taken at an appropriate time. Some of them have indicated that it may be decided after the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Apart from Modi and Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, is also seen as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate.

BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha had said last month that party leader L.K. Advani was the best candidate for prime minister.

Party sources in New Delhi said that this is first time that a leader, considered a competitor of Modi for the choice of prime ministerial candidate, had praised his qualities for the post.

They said that the issue of a prime ministerial candidate was open but Sushma Swaraj's comments could be interpreted as a pointer to Modi's possible emergence as a favourite for the role.

Sushma Swaraj got too much MOTA MAAL from Reddy brothers as if she pretended as a MAA of them and she started to dance in front of Rajghat, now she is expecting MOTA MAAL from Modi backing him for PM. Is it we do not have any capable candidature for PM out of 1.2 Billion population of India. He is the massacre of more than 2000 peoples of Gujrat in 2002.

Let Mr. Modi accept that all didn't go well during the tenure of he as C.M. and he will genuinely work towards peace and prosperity of all the people of India like Vajapayee.
Let Smt. Sushma accept that she made a blunder of supporting Reddy Brothers.
If they do so and change their ways for better, then they are better than the HYPOCRITES, who don't oppose the wrong done by them in RIGHT TIME AND METHOD.

    Dear KR Prabhu,
The GDP growth of Gujrat during Modi's tenure has risen from 6.45 to 10.08 whereas during the same period Bihar's GDP has grown from 4.94 to 11.42 higher than the growth of Gujrat as per the planning commission data. This shows the clear mismatch between reality and the kind of over-hype that Modi and his PR brigade have been trumpeting regarding his development.
Modi’s trumpet sounds flat if you also observe that his contribution to the increase in Gujarat’s growth rate, over his predecessors in the years 1994-2001 (ie. between fiscal years 1994/05 and 2001/02), has been less than the improvements shown by other CMs in other states! Gujarat was fastest growing state even before Modi took over, and Modi’s improvement over existing rates are not as much as some other states.

Sussy adopted Reddy and he landed in jail. Now, Sussy is showing warmth towards 'budda bachelor ?' & may be he will land in jail as well for his butchery of innocent infants and women. PMs job is not as easy as swallowing 'Dhokla' with chutney. This snake eyed (watch his eyes closely) butcher is a dreadly terrorist.

Sushma's assertions should be a shot in the arm for Modi and his supporters who dream him as PM of the future. There is no comparision for Modi across political parties at present. If Indian has to be progressed and put a check on corruution, Modi elevation is a must.No other person can like him.India has a great future.Butcher mantra chanters will shut their mouth once for all.

There is a complete well planned machinery that is planting false economic figures and attempting to project his handling of economy to compensate for his various acts of riots and murders.
Only the fundamentalists and idiots who are fans of Modi. Educated, rational people know the man behind the mask and aware that this man will be extremely dangerous with higher power

BJP leader Sushma Swaraj is purposely making a mockery of statements. This tainted leader of Gujarat is not allowed to travel USA and UK and may be many more countries. His own patel community in USA who invited Modi for a function to USA.The same people later started making negative comments about Modi when his visa was rejected and former visa was suspended.Followed by this ,UK also suspended his Visa and made it impossible for him to visit the Gujarati investors in London.Recently UK made a statement that the visa status remain same as before. That means Modi cannot travel to UK even if he become PM of India. Who want to take risk of `Taliban’ just by allowing Modi to Visit UK or USA.

    Yeah, RIGHT!
That will be the last straw! The last nail in India's coffin. He becomes the PM then India is OVER.
We'll have to change our constitution itself. Or perhaps change the meanings of "secularism", "democracy" , "socialism", "sovereignty" in dictionaries.
Our politicians have an extremely bad sense of humour- a PATHETIC joke this is, Modi and PM?
