UAE President Orders Planting of 41,000 Trees


Abu Dhabi, Dec 4 (IANS/WAM): UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the planting of 41,000 date palm seedlings at schools and mosques across the country.

The seedlings were produced by laboratories of the Date Palm Development Research Unit of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU).

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, minister of higher education and scientific research, and chancellor of UAEU, hailed the initiative of the UAE's leaders as an expression to bring together national feelings, sentiments and attitudes with symbolic work that reflects loyalty and love for the homeland.
