Mangalore: Mandd Sobhann to Confer Global Konkani Music Awards on Dec 9

Mangalore, Dec 6: The fourth Global Konkani Music Awards instituted by Mandd Sobhann will be conferred on Sunday December 9 at 6 pm.
The music awards will be presented in six categories – Best Singer - Male, Best Singer - Female, Best Lyricist, Best Music Composer, Best Music Arranger and Best Music Album 2011.
The jury has shortlisted three nominees in each category and the winners will be declared on Sunday.
Top 3 nominees in each category:
Lavita Lobo, Mangalore; Nephretari Pradhan (Goa), Mumbai and Sonia Shirsat Goa for Best Singer Female 2011.
Adolf Jayatilak, Mangalore; Butto (Odisha), Bangalore and Dr Prashanth Raj, Mangalore for Best Singer Male 2011.
Elick Vaz, Goa; Roshan D’Souza, Angelore and Sidhanath Buyao for Best Music Composer 2011.
Late Chafra D’Costa; Jerry Rasquinha, Mangalore and Lloyd Rego, Tacode for Best Lyricist 2011.
Cajetan Dias (Honnavar), Bangalore; Francisco Agnelo Fernandes, Goa and Roshan D’Souza, Angelore for Best Music Arranger 2011.
Francisco Agnelo Fernandes, Goa (Tum Mhozo); Ivan Lobo & Team Ye Mana, Mangalore (Xetam Merer) and Ajith Peter D’Souza, Udupi (Ye Lagim) for Best Music Album 2011.
The winners will get the prestigious awards and prize money of Rs 25,000 each.
Gurukiran, prominent music director, singer and actor will be the chief guest while Armando Gonsalves, founder and CEO of Heritage Jazz, Goa will be the guest of honour.
The Global Konkani Music Awards ceremony will feature songs by Queenie Fernandes and Akash Telugu, Goa, Rani and Rai Kogull of Soad-3 International and dance by Nach Sobhann team.
The programme will be compered by Melita Sequeira and Poornanand Chari.
