What people looking at is better service with reduced cost whereas here it is ulta...100 to 200 percent more than AIE, anyway, this can be named as Luxury flight for affordable groups rather than for a common man, so that commoner can get seat in AIE whenever he try to travel....JAI HO.

Arrive early morning at M'lore and hit the bed, while the traffic is still not awake to make life miserable. Departure time back to Dubai is also very convenient. Since the system is updating the Mangalore dubai sectors you may find high fares these are not the acutal fares very soon you will find good fares.... just keep a watch on www.jetairways.com
Let us all see to it that this sector becomes successfull then surely we will get other sectors like Kuwait, Doha, Bahrain, Saudi. all are in the cards just a matter of time

Everyone wants eggs from the golden goose and Jet Airways is no exception. Just wait until Fly Dubai, Spice Jte and Air Arabia start operations and then the fares will start falling. Today Jet Airways has competition only from the lousy Air India express, but tomorrow with competition from Fly Dubai, Spice Jet, Indigo etc, they will be forced to scale down the fares. Just have a little patience as this is only the first step.I feel very sorry to call Air India lousy, but this is because of the people working there. If each employee sits back and starts realising that their salaries come from us, and that they have their jobs and comforts because of us, then a change my happen. Until then there is no future for Air India and its miserable staff.

as regards shri george belman's comments are concerned, though we don't pay taxes in India, we pay heavy taxes here by way of food prices, expensive school fees and high rentals... and on top of that, whatever we save are sent to our mother country which contributes the highest forex remittances to india from the gulf countries... so please don't just blame the poor NRIs for cribbing for the higher fare... yes, they hurt - both the higher fare and the misplaced comments...

Heck you don't even pay taxes here in India. You earn lakhs in Gulf countries still whine about paltry 20-30 thousand rupees ticket price? - George, Belman

George, you are such a cheap person and with your cheap comments you showed that what type of person you are. Do you know what is the cost of travel from Mangalore to Dubai? I am sure you are not aware. Don't think that whoever works in gulf is rich. There are so many labour class people who are very poor and you don't know what condition they live in Dubai. These people visit their families once in three to four years. They sweat blood in the deserts. They are not lucky like you who got job in India. If everybody gets job in India, then there is no need for any Indian to go to gulf. Regarding paying taxes, who pays the airport tax? You just check website of any of the airlines and see the tax levied and service charges. Who brings foreign reserves to India? Come out of the well and don't talk like a frog in the well. And whenever any NRI comes to India, people like you may be LIC agent/property dealer comes at his doorstep early in the morning to beg for policies or properties. NRI's equally contribute as those residing in India. But most of those who stay in India evade tax and bribe the officials and hence do you know where does that money go?

I fully expected NRIs to start whining about high ticket prices of Jet Airways.

Let me ask you this NRIs: why do you expect Mother India to still subsidize your travel? You want government run Air India Express to sell cheap tickets, you want customs to waive tax duty on things you import and now you want even a private entity like Jet Airways to subsidize your ticket? All this when you probably got free education in India and went away from India the first chance you get. Why o why?

Heck you don't even pay taxes here in India. You earn lakhs in Gulf countries still whine about paltry 20-30 thousand rupees ticket price?

Why this sense of entitlement by rich NRIs? I am not trying to provoke anyone but this is a genuine question trying to understand the mentality of rich NRIs.

Jet ticket prices are too high compared to AIE. That is because AIE is low cost airline and Jet is the normal one. Jet has Jet Light as its low cost airline. They should operate those flights to bring down the prices to the AIE level or else it will impossible for them to reduce the price.

Jai Ho AIE. Now the men will understand, the people carrier and Private carrier.
ofcourse, AIE too nee a shuffle, interms of crew discipline, attitude and quality of service.
Its good start .Wish both airlines best wishes.
However, my preference will be safer and economic flight, whether its Jet or AIE, which coming days will reveal.
Hard and sincerely earned gulf money not for hi-fi spending.

Now no one will blame Air India Express from Jan 3,2013..Passengers who can afford high ticket charge can prefer Jet Airways..Middle calss people will prefer Air India, but this time they don't utter a word about seat, food, service!! Actually,Jet Airways entry will give big relief to Air India Express..

This is very good news we welcome them.(The Jet Airways to proudness our Mangalore International Airport) but the fare should be competetive with AIE,otherwise the companies will give priority to buy the cheeper fare AIE tickets to their staff,as well as this is the whcich mentioned price here is very higher fare to the self buyers of economic classes anyhow we hope they will reduce the price as possible as soon and also, will comence the flight availability from the capital city of UAE that,Abudhabi International Airport.

We have a choice now to travel in a Private airline and a Government airline. From january we will notice changes in Air India express!!Mainly interiors, torn seats being relplaced, clean toilets and puntcual timing of arrivals and departures. If they dont change their attitute we hear by DAIJIWORLD "Air india express stopped services to UAE due to lack of passengers" This might happen as early as from JUNE 2013. Ethihad, Emirates all will start service to Manglore for sure. So we have a choice of our travel.
AIR INDIA EXPRESS no more monopoly. Gulf passengers, Happy flying.

I expected these higher price from Jetairways. we can't compare Jetairways with budget airlines like AIE. Jetairways is good for business class flyers and those who get company tickets. If we want competitive price with AIE, we need to wait for FlyDubai or AirArabia to start their flight

Dubai people want cheap flights with all luxury....Come on lads.....- Anamika

Anamika, we don't want luxuries. We want comfort and at the same time prices should be competetive. We don't want to pay unnecessarily high prices for tickets. Tell me one thing. If one particular soap is costing Rs.10.00 in one shop and if for the same soap they charge Rs.15.00 in another shop, which one you prefer? To be frank, these airlines are looting the customers. And as such, we need cheaper flights. Don't think that all Dubai people are rich and wealthy. There are so many poor people in Dubai who go once in three to four years to India.

Though its a good news and news to be welcomed, but saddened to note that jet airways fare in this sector is 25% higher than AIE fares. We need it to be competitive in fare and service. I request the Jet authorities to look into the matter so that people favor and patronise Jetairways.
