BJP Calls Yeddy 'Paper Tiger', Dares him to Topple Govt

HUBLI/SHIMOGA, Dec 9 (PTI) : Karnataka chief minister Jagadish Shettar on Sunday ruled out dissolving the state assembly even as uncertainty loomed over the future of his government after 13 BJP MLAs openly backed former party strongman BS Yeddyurappa.

"I still command the support of 120 MLAs. There is no question of dissolving the assembly," Shettar told reporters at Hubli rejecting the opposition's demand for his resignation after more than a dozen BJP MLAs shared the dais with Yeddyurappa at the launch of his Karnataka Janata Party at Haveri.

Seeking to downplay the open defiance by 13 MLAs who participated in the KJP-launch rally, Shettar said "only 10-12" MLAs attended (the event).

At Shimoga, deputy chief minister and state unit BJP President KS Eswarappa dared Yeddyurappa to topple the Shettar government.

Slamming Yeddyurappa, whom he described as a "paper tiger", he asked, "where are the 60 MLAs?" Eswarappa was referring to the Lingayat strongman's claim that at least 60 legislators supported him.

Eswarappa also said there was no question of dissolving the assembly and challenged the Congress-JDS-KJP to bring down the state government.

Eswarappa said top BJP leaders would meet at Belgaum on December 12 to debate on various issues including the act of indiscipline by some of the party legislators and action to be taken against them.

In the 224-member Karnataka assembly, BJP has a strength of 118, Congress 71, JDS 26, Independents seven and two vacancies.

Sitting in Dubai and commenting will not serve your cause.

Please come down to Mangalore and serve the chaddis to realize your dream to serve the best among the worst.

Remember, the best among the worst had hoisted Pakistani flag in Bijapur to create communal tensions.

I hope that you could have taken some lessons in the UAE. Do they discriminate you on the basis of your religion?

After the election they will come together and create a govt. just wait and watch game. 100% yeddi will become a C.M. they will never give a chance to CONGRESS & JD(S).

in Tulu there is a proverb chaddi jarand kandita Labha undu .Hence I am sure BSY will not topple BJp Govt in Karnataka at any cost .Shettar Govt will survive full term .The Logic is simple now BSY wants to play the VICTIM Card which is a powerful weapon for him .If he topples the Govt then Victim Card turns into Villain card .

It’s a smart calculated move played by KJP. Everybody knows that if Government falls, they have to go for election within 6 months from the date of State Government dissolution. At this time, other than KJP or BJP, none other Parties wants election. After making so many record breaking scams in Central, FDI resolution and Cauvery Issue, Congress is in back foot to ask vote for them. Moreover Congress has more infighting in Karnataka than compare to other Parties. Karnataka people have no other choice but to choose best among the worst only, i.e. BJP. At least they keep even accused one away unlike Congress promote such person with higher post. We do not want to see again that Party who oppose or hate majority in India in general and at Karnataka in particular

BSY may lost some, but he has found acceptance from some.
Rise and fall is the matter of time but God is with the righteous.
Shri. BSY is paper Tiger or Real Tiger in Karnataka Politics, time will definitely reveal truth.

This message by BJP shows their helpless postion.they can not act on anyone who attended Yeddy's rally in Haveri. if they act on those people then govt.will fall.when they could not act against their Natonal president Gadkari, they known they lost the battle in Karnataka.BJP high command is bussy backing Modi in Gujrat, while doing this they will loose Karnataka.Feel sorry for Mr.Shettar.First of all BJP must remove Eashwarrappa from the post of president.

    People,

Next assembly elections BJP will ask votes in the name of Gadkari,Sushma,Shettar and Eshwarappa.

Lets see if these spineless charecters get 75 seats....

After next elections everybody will know who is paper and who is real tiger...Eshwarappa thinks his big mouth will bring him big votes....

One thing is clear from Haveri KJP convention...not only Yeddy made money for himself and his family but allowed his political friends to make money as well...unlike our "Mahatma" from Karkala...who dont trust his own brother .......

BJP wants this govt to go in the name of BSY!Those fourteen MLAs indeed clearly defied party dictat and shared stage with BSY to show solidarity with BSY even though it will attract ANTI-PARTY ACTIVITY which may send them disqualification for six years from contesting.I think BJP inviting the trouble for political reasons but certainly, it will not work out.BSY clearly stated that current govt must not made to fall and it should continue till the end of tenure.Hence, he appealed his loyal ministers not to attend HAVERI convention.

Important thing is that unless an MLA capable enough to win his own like KATTI/UDASI.... otherwise in this circumstance not bring any good to KJP.A politician popular enough to get 60% votes then BSY's influence will make him win.Ordinary politician or reigning MLA irrelevant to KJP.

For politician of Karnataka options are wide open.Mainstream Political parties like Cong/BJP/JDS could not able to accommodate with B form for all MLA aspiring as it is limited and in that event more options are also available.

Certainly, BSY is not a paper tiger ,in fact fighting lion. BJP desperate and feeling extremely helpless making PAPER TIGER STATEMENT.Coming Assembly election will clearly show who is paper tiger and who is real tiger,I guess Ishwarapa might not be in the forthcoming Assembly and Belur Gopala Krishna may loose his deposit.
