Kuwait : RENDEZVOUS 2012 Rekindles the SACAA Magic

Media Release

Kuwait, Dec 8 : A full house attendance, a live band made up of Ex-Aloysian musicians, a super DJ playing top class music became just the right recipe that gave SACAA Kuwait every reason to celebrate Rendezvous 2012 as a Super success.

“Rendezvous”, the hall mark fundraising event of SACAA Kuwait was conducted on 6th December 2012 at Asia Asia Hall, Souk Al Watiya, Kuwait. This was the fifth time since 2006 that SACAA Kuwait as organized this event to support any specific initiative for the Aloysian institutions at Mangalore, India.

Keeping in mind the Yuletide season, the event began with a fancy dress competition for the children in three age groups. It was really wonderful to see tiny tots and young kids display their talent in this competition. The results of the event are as under.

Toddlers (1-3 years Category)

1st Prize - RaihanThuwan Omer
2nd Prize – Jason D’Souza
Kids (4-6 years Category)

1st Prize - Sydelle D’Souza

2nd Prize - Faith D’Costa
Kids (7 – 10 years category)

1st Prize - Keona Abraham

All the children and their parents were equally excited to see Santa Claus who surprised everyone with a quick visit to the venue. Christmas Carols, chocolates from Santa and gifts for all children made this visit a memorable one.

The highlight of the evening was the live band that was just formed for this occasion by ex-Aloysians living in Kuwait.  Live Bands being a rarity in Kuwait, their performance reminded most of the musician’s yesteryears back in Mangalore as part of leading music bands and had the crowd craving for more.  In addition to this DJ Kiran Sunny (PartyRockers) played a fantastic mix of desi, western, regional music which ensured that all people were continually on the dance floor.

While the event was a very happy one, there were a few tears of sadness bidding goodbye to the pillar of strength of SACAA Kuwait, Archie Menezes. Archie, who was the Founder President of SACAA Kuwait, is moving back to India after many years of invaluable service to community in Kuwait. It has been under his consistent support and advice that SACAA Kuwait has been achieving more and more success each year. SACAA Kuwait wishes Archie and his wife Nancy Menezes a happy retirement life ahead and success in all his further endeavors.

The much awaited draw of the fund raising raffle tickets was also conducted at the event.  The results of the same are as below

Third Prize - Laptop -Aloysia Pais

Five Consolation Prizes

A sumptuous meal was the right topping to this event.  The party finally came to an end in the wee hours of the morning with large numbers of people yet on the dance floor looking for more music and dance.

SACAA Kuwait wishes to place on record its heartfelt gratitude to all its sponsors and well-wishers who made this event possible with their support.

The finesse and class of the program had every guest smiling and yearning for more such events, in Kuwait. SACAA Kuwait promises many more such exciting events in future and looks forward to more active participation from members, families and well-wishers.
