Decision on Action Against Rebel MLAs Dec 12

Belgaum, Dec 10 (PTI): Facing fresh turmoil, Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar today said BJP central leaders will take a decision on December 12 on initiating action against MLAs who defied the party and shared dais with B S Yeddyurappa at the launch of his new outfit.

"The BJP central leaders will take a decision at a December 12 meeting ..." Shettar told reporters here, a day after 13 MLAs threw their lot behind Yeddyurappa at the Haveri rally, raising questions about the stability of government.

Ignoring the warning of action, MLAs loyal to Yeddyurappa, who broke his 40-year-old association with BJP 11 days ago, showed open defiance, putting the BJP in a quandary.
Reacting to the opposition demand to dissolve the assembly, Shettar replied in the negative saying there is no question of doing so.

Higher Education Minister C T Ravi alleged Yeddyurappa is having a "secret pact" with Congress as he has not stated anything against it.

Ravi said said the formation of KJP will not affect BJP's prospects in future. "BJP cannot be weakened by anyone (who leaves the party)," he added.

Describing Yeddyurappa as a "selfish person" with "ego problems", he said the claims of thirty legislators supporting Yeddyurappa is a media creation.

Yeddyurappa had yesterday dared the BJP to dissolve the assembly and seek a fresh mandate saying the Shettar government had no majority in the assembly now.

Seeking to send a tough message to Yeddyurappa's loyalists, Shettar had on Saturday sacked his trusted lieutenant B J Puttaswamy from the ministry while the party had suspended Tumkur MP G S Basavaraju.

When Governor Bharadwaj was upset with Yediurappa & Reddy Brothers because of corruption and other unconventional style, most of Yediyurappa's supporters were upset with Governor. Later when Mr. Sadananda Gowda became CM, Governor was impressed with his stle of administration and even Kumaraswamy did not utter a single word against BJP or Mr. Gowda .But Mr. Shettar , no doubt is a gentleman, was upset and Yediyurappa visited him in Hubli to console. There was peace & good governance in Karnataka for some time and Yediyurappa could not digest the gaining popularity of Mr. Gowda. Later on whatever actions or strategy adopted by Yediyurappa lead to the current chaos. And the people of Karnataka are the losers . Mr. .Shetter could have avoided this situation.
In other words nobody really cares for the people. We all belong to that category (IDIOTS) as correctly expressed by Justice Markandeya Katju.

Dear frineds, 'Adeege biddaroo moogu mele" shame on BJP which came into existence by putting bits and pieces together and ending in the same manner. All BJP MLAs including Jagdeesh Shettar himeself are in a dilemma whether to stick to the short and uncertain power or rally behind BSY, who could emerge a kingmaker post next elections unless Congress secures an absolute majority on its own. BSY will certainly reward MLAs on first come first serve basis. Therefore my advice to BJP MLAs is that if they want to protect their own interest as they have been doing in the last 4-1/2 years, they must quit instantly and jump over to KJP. Fish in a drying pond cannot survive for too long. BSYs popularity is already out in the open after the Haveri rally.

    Dear Bernard Saldanha, Bantwal,
For common people like us whether BJP, KJP, Cong or JDS, these are all kind of brands.
Doesn't matter much as long as they are fair, accommodating and taking everyone along.
Why are we preferring secularists because in general more of aforesaid qualities were found in them. But there are number of exceptions, like A.B. Vajapayee, Madanlal Khurana, DVS, Jaswant Singh, yashwant Sinha, have had such qualities.
Moreover, Why BJP & KJP parted, whether they will have electoral tie ups or contest against one another, how each party responding to matters concerning us will have to be seen.
One thing is true as you said there are no permanent friends or enemies and all are interested in themselves.
In a way we should be grateful to BJP, because they troubled us we became politically conscious and active otherwise where we would have spared time to comment here? Time will reveal everything friend!

Yes, he will not do the same mistake again. He had done that last time due to pressure from Karnataka congressmen. And for which he attracted flak from various law experts. This time HR Bharadwaj will act according to what constitution allows, not according congress agents like you want.

Govt will become minority when MLAs says they won't support Govt and number falls below 112. Then only 356 can be imposed. Improve your knowledge man.
