Udupi: Global Kemmannu Flowers to Host Non-Resident Parishioners' Day

Udupi, Dec 12: As part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of Kemmannu Church, Global Kemmannu Flowers, under the leadership of Kemmannu Flowers, UAE will be celebrating Non-Resident Parishioners' Day in Kemmannu on December 29.

The event, to be held in aid of the platinum jubilee celebrations of St Theresa’s Church, Kemmannu, will start with a thanksgiving Mass at 4 pm, followed by the inauguration of a new dining hall at the premises. The stage programme is expected to start at 6 pm.

Frank Fernandes, Mosaco Shipping, Dubai, B M Zaffar, Thonse Health Centre, Hoode/Thonse, Sathish Venkataraman, Chilly Willy Trading, Dubai, Walter Nandalike, Daijiworld Media, Oswald Crasto, Sahara, Oilfield Suppliers and Trading, Qatar and Kenneth Saldanha, Dubai will be the chief guests.

A 3-hour variety entertainment chiefly performed by non-resident parishioners of Kemmannu will be add more colour to the event. The entertainment package will include fashion show, dance performances by kids and adults, live band and music, romantic Konkani melodies and comedy skits. Spot prizes, an eye catching tableau and carnival dance choreographed by Stany D’Cunha(Bulla) are also in the programme list. Refreshments will be served after the Mass and dinner will be served after the stage programme to all those who attend the event.

In addition, Global Kemmannu Flowers will host its first-ever mega event at Kemmannu in May 2013, in aid of the platinum jubilee celebrations of St Theresa’s Church, Kemmannu.

Kemmannu parish completes seventy five years of its existence in May 2013. A grand two-day celebration to conclude the year-long activities will be held in the month of May 2013.

The parish has undertaken many big and small projects for the welfare of the parish families. But there isn’t a descent parochial house yet. The parish clergy live in the 1938 house which has no adequate ventilation and light. With this in mind, the parishioners and the parish council have taken up the following projects as part of its platinum jubilee celebrations:

- Construction of the parochial house at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lac
- A dining hall to the northern side of the existing hall to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 15 lac.
- Celebration of Non-Resident Parishioners' Day at Kemmannu Church Grounds on December 29.


Regular meetings are being conducted in UAE and Qatar to make the December 29 event a memorable one. The event has received excellent response from sponsors and well-wishers and there is room for more. The complete net collection after deducting the expenses will be handed over to the platinum jubilee committee on behalf of Global Kemmannu Flowers.
