Mangalore: Teetotallers Konkani Rock Band Regales Music Fans

Mangalore, Dec 17: Fans of rock music in the city had a gala time on Sunday December 16, with Teetotallers Konkani rock band giving a scintillating performance at Kalaangann.
In their maiden show in the city, the rock band delivered a unique blend of popular Konkani numbers in rock style.
For over two hours, the crowd, consisting of people of all ages, were regaled by the peppy music of the band. They danced merrily, cheering and clapping all along.
The festive crowd was treated to popular Konkani songs like 'Kenna Kenna', 'Dees raat moga', 'Meera meera', 'Juliana', 'Neelya gaganth' and many others.
Even the carol singing was in rock style, with melodies like 'Jingle Bells' being rendered in a unique way.
The band was formed by a group of friends consisting of Roshan Angelore, Malcolm, Meera, Preethi, Zeena, Priya, Deepak, Vijay, Amrith, Veena, Dilraj, Elton, Ashwath, Ivan, Ronald, and Jean.
The band practised for six months before showcasing their first live performance. The event was organized and produced by the group itself, with an intention to portray the spirit of friendship and 'dedicated to the youth in each one of us'.
