Bantwal: One Dead, Eight Injured in Jeep-Lorry Collision

Bantwal, Dec 20: One person was killed and eight others injured in a head-on collision between a jeep and a lorry near Neralakatte here on Wednesday December 19 night.
The deceased has been identified as Dinakar Gowda from Kabaka-Kodippady.
Sources said that out of the 9 injured, 3 are said to be critical. They are Harish, Devappa and Pakira who are admitted to a hospital in Mangalore.
The other injured Krishnappa, Balakrishna, Giriyappa, Santhosh and Girish are undergoing treatment in a Puttur hospital.
The accident took place when a lorry plying from Puttur rammed into the jeep that was moving from Thumbay Ramalkatte.
Vittal police visited the spot and a case has been registered.
