Dubai : Alfred D'Souza Thottam (58) Found Dead in his Office

Dubai, Dec 20 : In a shocking news, Konkani community leader in UAE, president of SAKATH, Thottam, an association of parishioners of Thottam, Udupi diocese, Alfred D'Souza, was found dead in his office during the early hours of Thursday December 20.

The exact cause of death is not known.

An active member of Sharjah Konkani community, 58-year-old entrepenuer Alfred was well known among the Konkani community in UAE and was known for his philanthropic works.

Alfred leaves behind his wife Carol, children Adrina, Areena and Carl.

Police are investigating the cause of death

Very sorry to read the sad news of Alfie's passing away at his office. He worked well earned the admiration of so many people he associated with during his well spent life. Needless to say he will be missed by many people. He will be remembered for the good job he did for fostering SAKATH with his time and other resources. The efforts to bring the community together in UAE on that platform is commendable. You and children will certainly cherish all the good time you had during your lives together and that will help you to sustain this great loss. Do not be afraid, the Good Lord will give you all the strength to carry on with his unfinished projects. I remember, Hildabai was young with her very young children when Denisab passed away and it is so good see all the children grew up in the fear of God and did remarkably well in their respective lives. I am so sorry to hear about the death of Alfred’ab. It has come as a major shock to me as I had met him a couple of days back.

It’s definitely a great loss for his family and the vacuum can never be filled but one thing is sure that he has left a happy family behind which he will always keep a watch on from above. Alfred’ab was so full of life and so many of us were inspired by his very presence and his contribution towards Konkani community in the UAE.

Do not know how to talk to your family to console them as nothing can take away their heartache, except special grace from Heaven. Even though I knew you for many years as a gentle, soft spoken, kind and ever helping person, it was only during Wilson Olivera Nite, organized by SMMKC we became so close in thoughts and mind. Shocking and Unbelievable.Couple of Days Back we had chatted in length on betterment of SAKATH.A Person with Clean and Large Heart.Ever ready to Reach out people on whatever way he can.We may have seen him as a Sponsor in Most of the Programmes but his contribution to the downtrodden and in Large to society is much much more.Alfredaab ..Missing your Guidence.No Words to Console your family.

OMG ! What a shocking news ! A lively, lovely and stylish personality who lived life like a king. His hospitality was unbelievable especially when he organised the Thottam annual event earlier in the year. Gave his best to support konkani activities and helped all organisations in the UAE. ALFI'S SUDDEN DEMISE IS SHOCKING AND WE ARE DUMBFOLDED. WE HAVE INTERACTED WITH HIM CLOSELY FOR OVER 30 YEARS. HE WAS A LOVING HUSBAND TO CAROL AND DOTING DADDY T0 ANDREA, CARL AND AREENA. HE WAS WARM AND CORDIAL TO EVERYONE. BEING FOUNDER MEMBER AND PRESENT PRESIDENT OF SAKATH, HE WAS BACKBONE AND LIFE TO SAKATH. HIS LOSS IS TOO SUDDEN AND THE PAIN WILL LINGER WITH US FOR A LONG TIME.
