Mangalore: Accused in Bejai Raja Murder Produced in Court

Mangalore, Dec 22: Three persons accused in the murder of rowdy Bejai Raja were produced in the court here on Friday December 21.

They have been identified as Pradeep Mendon (41), resident of Adi Udupi Ambalpady, Kiran alias Achuta (29), resident of Sultan Battery and Chandra Shetty alias Chandu (33), Ashoknagar.

Kadri police had arrested them from Kankanady railway station on Tuesday December 18.

However, the police have so far not revealed the connection between the three accused and Bejai Raja, or whether they belong to any gang. Unconfirmed reports had intially claimed that they belong to Ravi Poojary gang.

The police said that among them, Pradeep was the prime accused.

Pradeep, Kiran and Chandu were remanded in judicial custody for a day.

In all seven persons have been arrested in the case. Four were caught on December 13.
