Mangalore, Dec 23: In a suspected case of murder, the body of a man aged around 50 years was found at Permude near MRPL here on the night of Saturday December 22.

The deceased has been identified as JD(S) member and president of JD(S) Hoige Bazar fisheries wing Girish Putran.

Putran had gone missing on the previous day. After searching for him in vain, a complaint was registered at the Pandeshwar police station.

The body was reportedly found by the police themselves, who alerted one of Putran's friends. The motive or the identity of the culprits is not yet known, however, it is said that it may be a case of murder to loot as he had been wearing gold jewellery at the time he went missing.

Police suspect that the miscreants murdered Putran elsewhere and dumped his body in the bushes near MRPL. There were stab injuries on his face, neck and stomach.

Girish is survived by his wife and two sons.

The body was taken to Wenlock for post mortem.

A case has been registered in the Bajpe police station.

Mangalore once know for peaceful city to live with, gradually stepping to notorious city.In three years 28 Rape cases were registered!Murders are increasingly became order of the day!Robbery/Economic fraud/molestation/extortion/moral policing/rowdyism etc etc talk of the town.POLICE OF DK/MANGALORE COMMISSIONERATE NEED TO REDISCOVER STRATEGY TO HALT/MINIMIZE SUCH KIND OF UNTOWARD CRIMINAL INCIDENTS.
VERY SAD INCIDENT MAY SOUL REST IN PEACE.

WE HAVE MOST INEPT POLICE FORCE IN THE THE ENTIRE WORLD AND IMPOTENT POLITICAL LEADERS IN THE COUNTRY. POLICE HAS FAILED MISERABLY IN COLLECTING EVIDENCE EITHER DUE TO UNPROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE OR UNDER THE INFLUENCE FROM PEOPLE IN POWER (MONEY AND POLITICAL).

MOST OF THE TIME ACCUSED IN THESE HEINOUS CRIMES (MURDER, RAPE, ATTEMPT TO MURDER, PHYSICAL ASSAULT ETC) DO NOT GET CONVICTED BECAUSE OF THE POOR EVIDENCE COLLECTION BY THE POLICE. THE TIME HAS COME WHEN PEOPLE OF MANGALORE REVOLT AGAINST THE SYSTEM LIKE THE YOUTH IN DELHI. TAKE RECENT CASE OF RAPE AND MURDER IN DHARMASTALA.

SETTING UP OF FAST TRACK COURTS FOR IVE CASES IS NOT THE SOLUTION. WE NEED REFORMS IN OUR ARCHAIC LAWS AND RESTRUCTURING OF JUDICIAL SYSTEM AND INFRASTRUCTURE TO DELIVER THE JUSTICE ON TIME. OUR POLITICAL PARTIES ARE BUSY WITH RELIGIOUS ISSUES RATHER THAN FOCUSING ON THEIR BASIC WORK WHICH IS LAW MAKING.

Very Sad, deepest condolences to the deceased family members. How hard it is to accept such a tragedy and loss!
Our region once known as very peaceful tolerant, education hub, city of wisdom is gradually turning notorious.
If determined, our good and influential people can definitely work to restore peace and past glory to the region.
