Kasargod: Daring Robbers Tie up Family, Loot 45 Sovereigns of Gold

Kasargod, Dec 24: In a daring act, robbers looted 45 sovereigns of gold and Rs 25,000 cash after tying up the family, at a house near Kumble on Saturday December 22 night.
The robbery took place at the house belonging to Rajesh Shenoy at around 8 pm when there was a power cut.
As per the information received, the gang entered the house wearing monkey caps, and used intoxicating substances to make the family unconscious and then tied them up.
As many as 12 gold bangles, 5 chains and 3 rings, altogether weighing 45 sovereigns along with Rs 25,000 cash were stolen.
The thieves jumped over the rear wall of the compound and entered the house from the main door. Family sources said that the thieves possessed sword, cycle chains and other lethal instruments.
The incident came to light when Rajesh, one of the family members came to the house and found the family tied up.
It is learnt that the thieves communicated in Kannada, Hindi and English.
Fingerprint experts and canine squad were pressed into action.
A case has been registered in Kumble police station.
