Bangalore: State Government Dismisses Ganesh Karnik, N B Abubakker

Daijiworld Media Network

Bangalore, Dec 25: In a sudden move, the state government has dismissed heads of three commissions/forums, including Capt Ganesh Karnik and N B Abubakker.

Capt Ganesh Karnik has been removed as the chairperson of the NRI forum, and Abubakker as the chairperson of the state Minorities Commission. The third person to face the axe is M Rudresh, chairperson of Kanteerava Studios Limited.

The announcement was made by chief minister Jagadish Shettar after a meeting of the BJP core committee, wherein it was decided to make fresh appointments to these posts.

Sources said that chairpersons of other commissions and departments are likely to be dismissed in the coming days.

It may be noted that among the three dismissed, only Rudresh was a Yeddyurappa loyalist while Capt Karnik and Abubakker were loyal to the BJP.

Moreover, several NRIs and NRI organizations have reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of Capt Ganesh Karnik as head of NRI forum, which may be one of the reasons for his dismissal, say sources.

A rare personality who has seen the bullet life as an army man and who is now actively involved in the state politics, Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Deputy Chairman, NRI Forum, Govenment of Karnataka. I personally know Capt Karnik from last few years. First and foremost the blame that he is a non performer is baseless. If it was true he would have won the second term. That too he represents teacher’s constituency and teachers have voted for him and elected him as their representative in legislative council. Moreover he was a Vice Chairman of NRI forum and not the Chairman of the forum. I guess that most of the people here do not know what exactly is a NRI forum. He has served the forum in the best possible ways. And talking about his leadership qualities, he is clean and uncorrupt. One among the few politicians I have come across. He is my inspiration and a role model. He does not need any cabinet level post to serve the society. To put it in his own words: Like a true soldier, I would say “In everything I do, it is my nation which comes first and everything next”

As per my knowlege Capt. Ganesh Karnik is a great leader with the love for the mother land. He also served Indian army for a decade.
Being a NRI chairperson does not necessarily give him all the powers to take appropriate measures as it has to get approved by higher positened ministers, who may not understand his vision. I am seeing Capt. Karnik as our future leader.

Dear readers this has nothing to with the peroformance of these people. They are sacked merely for the reason that they are supporters of yeddy. In fact yeddy is the one who appointed them these posts. this is nothing but political game. There are worst performers and corrupt personnel in several posts than these. why are they not sacked

Mr. Amanulla, I have heard of Mr. Karnik has helped many NRIs on various issues including similar to what you wrote.

He is a clean politician, extends unconditional help to people within the legal framework and he has no personal interest when serving the people.

I am sure his sincerity and dedication would open new avenues in his life and wish him good luck.

Thanks for sharing. I had a bigger problem something similar. It is out of topic here, still I am writing here bcz may be helpful for someone.

It was the year 2000 and I was in 10th. School officials told us to come on this date to collect hall ticket. We all went that day. Unfortunately my hall ticket was missing. School officials said they have already written to board and expecting hall ticket in couple of days. I was shocked !! What if they don't send ??? But luckily 2 days after i received my hall ticket and I could write exams..

Results came. Everything was fine. As it takes time to get original marks card we were issued temp marks card and with this I got admission to PU class. After few days original marks card came for everyone and mine was missing!! The school wrote letter to board and received the reply saying marks card for so and so candidate has been dispatched to you. But the school did not receive it! Again they wrote letter and received same reply from them. And this continued for long with no result. By then 3-4 months over. My new school started saying you need to bring your original marks card to continue here. But they accepted a letter from old school and they allowed to continue

After this we became very serious on this issue and approached few politicians. When we met them we received reply "En poojarre, you should have told me much earlier. Last week I was in Blr, I wud have discussed with MLA Gopal Pujary and brought the marks card by now". Hearing this we were were very happy. But nothing they could do! They kept on promising us and no result.

After again 2-3 months we informed this to one of our relative who works in Blr. He personally visited education board with the letter from our school. With his efforts I could get my marks card in one month. But still they printed 'Second copy' on my marks card, that means they had sent the first copy to somewhere else. After 11 months i recievd it finally!

    DINESH POOJARI...

For Mr Ganesh Karnik NRI Chairman Chair is nothing. He is a two time Council Member and one of the respected politician of DK/UDUPI.I am sorry Dinesh, you are entirely wrong in your assessment.Even though I am not subscribing his political views(He is/was devoted worker of RSS/BJP)Mr Amanulaah Managalore,KSA 's certification vouches everything about CAPTAIN.I did visit his office @ Managalore to invite for our native's college function and he was down to earth. His problem and non performance is that HE IS MR CLEAN IN BJP.Dinesh Poojari, almost all functions in DK, be it religious or social functions his name was figured in the guest list.FYI,I did not respond DAIJI's open letter to Captain Karnik. See Dinesh, your NALIN KUMAR, being an MP of Mangalore could do anything tangible to Mangalore? then you question MLC's contribution.

Ganesh Karnik's dismissal has been long overdue, as he utterly failed to contribute to any welfare of NRIs except attending NRI functions in Gulf countries and promising things which he couldn't deliver.

Similar ceremonial heads of organizations all over Karnataka must be dismissed with immediate effect.

This is regarding Mr. Capt Ganesh Karnik. I want to share an information, which may sound contrary to many of our readers' impression on Mr. Karnik.

An administrative error with my son's name (a single letter initial) was printed incorrectly in his SSLC book and for over three years, me and my son had to run from pillar to post for getting the error corrected, but could not. Finally, one of our family friends suggested me to meet Mr. Karnik who could be of of help. We took a prior appointment and we were asked to meet him at BJP's office in PVS circle where me and my son met him and explained the difficulties we encountered during the last three years. He appeared to be too humble, down to earth and a real gentleman. He assured us that he would help the boy whatever legally he could do in the case. We handed over the photocopy of all documents and rest was just a miracle. In just six months from our meeting, my son got new SSLC book with the correction.

Unfortunately, I could not get an opportunity to thanking him personally except on phone. Anyway, I wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Ganesh Karnik was not performer. He could not fulfill the promise he made to NRK's. That is why he was removed.

Few days back when Daiji piblished open letter to him, you were blaming him. Now how come he suddenly looking good for you? You are a double standard person. Improve your attitude.

I strongly believe it is great move for sure. Ganesh Karnik was not a great leader. These leaders must separate religion and state affairs first without interfernce. Poilitical and governance has to be purely for public in a transparent ways without any favouritism towards caste, religion and gender basis.

Good decision. BJP always gives hot seat to BEST PERFORMERS. We need pro active people like Kota Shrinivas Poojary, Raghupathi Bhat, Suresh Kumar, Ashoka, Yogish Bhat etc etc.

Where as congress promotes WORST PERFORMERS like Khurshid and demotes BEST PERFORMERS like Jaipal Reddy.
