Dammam, Dec 27: India Fraternity Forum (Dammam) recently organized a public program as part of the awareness campaign to mark the 20th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition with slogan “Lest we forgot Babri Musjid”, at Al-Nahda club auditorium - Rakka, situated in Dammam-Khobar highway, here. Speeches in Urdu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam were presented.
The program presided by Br Moosa Kutty (Kerala) began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by brother Sibagatullah (UP).
Brother Mohammed Waheed (Andhra Pradesh) delivered an introductory speech in Urdu and explained the purpose of the event. Br Amer (UP) described how Indian courts practice clear discriminations among various communities, especially on Indian Muslims, and emphasized need for all Indians to fight back and recover the Masjid.
This was followed by a speech by Br Saleem (Karnataka) who explained the huge crowd how Indian Muslims should get united and empowered, and also he insisted that now Muslims should start thinking differently on “positive approach” than negative.
Br Nazar (Kerala) stated the historical facts behind Babri Masjid. He reminded the major role of Muslims during the freedom struggle against British monarchy. Tamil speaker, Jahangir Aroosi said that Babri Masjid was demolished based on mere a historical myth of Ram, a Hindu God. He thrilled the crowd that “there are plenty of temples in the name of Ram in Ayodhya now. Does this mean Ram was born in multiple locations and how is it possible?” Br Faisel in his conclusion speech pledged that this message will endlessly be forwarded to the generations ahead. He reiterated “We’ll never forget Babri Masjid and ever let other not forget, until its reconstruction at the same spot, despite it costs anything”.
Br Abdullah Ali proposed the vote of thanks.
The organizers had arranged a signature on Canvass campaign at the end of the event. A huge paper scroll with memorable pictures of Babri Masjid with various slogans was mounted on the side walls of the event hall.
All the participants registered their feelings and emotions on Babri Masjid in the signature scroll. It was an overwhelming experience for everyone when they expressed their thoughts in it.
There were stalls displaying books, CDs in different Indian languages to remind the memories of Babri Masjid.
