Mangalore, Dec 29: They say love can make you do strange things and go to any extent to spend those precious moments with the one you cherish.

A youth who was caught in a burkha here on Friday December 28 is a prime example of this fact.

The youngster dared to wear burkha to meet his love, roamed with her freely unnoticed by the people, but finally landed in trouble when he was caught by the public and handed over to the police.

The incident took place near Besant College on Friday December 28 noon.

The lovebird has been identified as Ajith.

Ajith and his girlfriend belong to the same religion and are in fact relatives, but their families were opposed to their relationship. Hence they would meet secretly without the knowledge of parents and other family members.

Ajith hails from Udupi and the girl from Mangalore.

On Friday, with an intention to meet the girl and spend time with her, Ajith somehow managed to borrow a burkha and came to meet her near Besant College around 12 noon. People grew suspicious when they noticed the person in burkha wearing blue Converse shoes. Moreover, the headscarf accidentally slipped off, revealing the boy. Soon, the traffic police on duty was informed.

The lovebirds were then taken in a police vehicle to Barke police station where they were interrogated and the entire story came to light.

The youth revealed that their fathers were against their relationship and had even yelled at them, and hence he had to opt for burkha to meet his love.

The police called the girl’s mother and discussed the matter with her. The boy and girl were released by the police with a warning. No case was registered against them.

Nuns are dedicating their entire life to jesus christ. its disquisting if you compare muslim women to Nuns!! The bottom line is as a human being we all must have CONTROL, otherwise we are ANIMALS. just because some community men cannot control, women cannot cover head to toe their entire life! this is just horrible and cruel.

Here the male love bird has done his half home work only. Those who have noticed his had, he had bleached it (shaved it) too and applied some cosmetic cream on his hand.

But he had failed to walk like a girl which is quite difficult. One requires a lost of practice too. Might be he did not anticipated all these hurdles.

Both are adults and they have roamed on their own free will. We wish them good luck. Hope their dreams come true.

Brother Harold , yes you are right from one point of view.HIJAB is A head covering worn by Muslim women and Christian nuns and BURKHA is A long, loose garment covering the whole body, worn by Muslim women and FACE VEIL is a piece of more-or-less transparent material that covers the face which is not at all mandatory in ISLAM even wearing BURKHA is not mandatory in ISLAM , it is just an attire which covers the whole body . But now a day’s people are having a problem in wearing hijab in colleges and schools and what do you opine on this .

    Dear Cynthia, Moodbidri,
Michael Jackson hasn't converted to Islam. This was a story made by sun news paper citing Burqa in
Bahrain. Michael Jackson,s conversion was a deception. His spokesperson clearly elaborated he was not converted to Islam. He was cremated in the cemetery.

Burqa is a man made attire to put females under male control. There is no where specified in the quran veil or Burqa.

    Cynthia,

I'm appalled at your comments. For muslim women, the dress code is just like what nuns wear. Now you say whether nuns clothes are modest or provocative. There isn't best cloth than what nuns wear and that is what advised for Muslim women.

On security grounds, burqa should be banned as it can be used and abused too both female and males. Hizab gives more modesty to women as well as safety.

@ cynthia- If 'our' girl or 'your' Girl go for tight jean who cares.. we are trying
say if you want to be modest there is a choice, you can wear burkha,no one is forcing anyone
burkha is not sacred according to my view. its just a covering to hide curves, size and shape.
this is a solution for many serious thingd. its very unmatured of you to say 'our girls' n 'your girls.
    it shows your mind.

Now my question is why there no case is been registered against these couples, is it because he belongs to Hindu community or belongs to some fanatic groups.

Police should focus on serious issues of National Security rather than interfere in family disputes.

Indians have contributed US$40 Billion to the Defense Ministry in 2012 by way of taxes to stabilize law and other and issues concerning National Security and not for interfering in Family Politics.

Police should leave cases concerning Family Politics to Ekta Kapoor, she has a good track record dealing with them through her Family-Breaking soap operas

It is not obligatory on Muslim woman to cover her face and her hands from the wrist downwards, but it is obligatory upon her to cover rest of her body. It means if the Muslim woman does not cover her face and hands, she will not be violating the divine teachings of Quran and Sunnah in respect of Hijab and accordingly she is not committing any sin.
Keeping in mind the mis-use of Burkha, I think muslim women should keep their face open, and cover head and rest of their body.

So misuse of this can't bearable. These all copied from cinema, first of all penalty will be laid on Film who teaches to public through television to make this drama. So burka is holy dress of Islam France don't know it value.
