Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Dec 29: A case has been filed against CPI (M) leaders in the Udupi police station for making allegedly provocative speeches during their protest meet at Ajjarkad on Thursday December 27.

The protest had been held against the ritual of 'Made Snana' and caste discrimination over serving meals at Sri Krishna Temple.

CPI (M) leaders K Shankar, B Madhava, V Sriram Reddy, G N Nagaraj, politburo member M A Baby, V G K Nayar, Nityananda Swamy, K R Sriyan, Prasanna Kumar, Varalaxmi, Basavaraj, Bayyareddy, Maruthi Manpade and other members held a protest and led a march towards Car Street. The protest turned violent when they were stopped by the police near Sanksrit College.

M A Baby spoke against the ritual of 'Made Snana' and caste discrimination, while Sriram Reddy made a provocative speech, the complaint states.

The protestors tried to cross over the barricades put up at the spot to bar their entry from Sri Krishna Temple. Vehicular movement stopped completely. Stones were pelted at two buses, and their windshields damaged. Police officials who were on duty were also attacked, causing them internal injuries and bruises, the complaint states.

The complaint, filed by circle inspector Maruthi Nayak further states that the protestors had earlier assured the police of holding a peaceful protest, but it was a false assurance as the leaders made provocative speeches with an intention to stir people and create an atmosphere of unrest. The protest has caused harm to public property, states the compaint.

These Communist workers has no work perhaps. Naturally no one will object their protest in Maidan, but will any one permit them to storm the Krishna Temple ? It is something like you storm to someones house to look into his house matters.
Police did right job to send them out of temple area. Perhaps, their tendency shows that they deserve that. If any problem, devotees should complain, not these insane people.

Made Snana has been there since ages. It is the faith and belief shown in individual capacity. No one can force others to do what they dont want to do. As far as the cast discrimination is concerned, the present cong govt is propagating it in full swing in education, jobs and promotions. They may say they are helping a particular set of individuals but at the same time their policies are harming some other people for no fault of theirs. It is the govt itself which divides the people on communal lines and as far as the matter of faith are concerned it should be left alone.

If we observe the phenomena of nature and God’s blessings unto mankind we find that He has not observed equality in the distribution of His bounties and favours but in His infinite wisdom has accorded precedence to some individuals over others.

Beauty of form, pleasantness of voice, excellence of physique and mental talents have not been granted to men in equal degree. The same is the case with the material means of life.
Human dignity, which has had a significant effect on the moral, juridical and sociopolitical issues of the
today's world, is one of the accepted values in divine and human doctrines. The present era which is called the are of defending human rights and dignity, needs to modify and revise the concept, effects and requirements of human dignity more than ever.

The balanced view is, mankind has dignity inherently and God has put the crown of dignity on all humans unless somebody disturb his own dignity with his own behavior. The rights to life, freedom, religiosity and the fair enjoyment of social advantages are the requirements for human dignity and nobody has the right to harm or threaten human dignity and its consequences.

People misunderstands ‘Matt’ with temple. Its known as ‘Krishna Mutt’ not ‘Krishna temple’.
Mutt is belongs to a particular community and it’s a private worship place.
Allowing other people to worship is entirely left to the community runs that mutt.
So, serving food to other community people also is at their mercy. Nobody can question them for the rituals of that mutt. These communist are non-believers of God and they are protesting for publicity. Mind you the Assembly election is approching.

    Mr.Rajesh Poojary - Bangalore

Yes, what Nagesh said is correct. The reason is:

1.There are some drawbacks in every religion. But due to the fear of loosing votes of minorities these Congis, CPM n all will not speak against them.

    2. If some one speak against these minorities they will be called as communal

    3. IF you speak about one particular religion they will perform a violent protest. They will speak in favor of Saddam Hussain, Laden etc...

I agree with Vinay. It is true that Discrimination is in practice since centuries... The only thing what we should do is KEEPING OURSELVES AWAY from these so called holy (Business) places.

I use to visit these places ONLY to see their scriptures as if I am visiting parks. Some handiwork are magnificent. But today Five Star Concrete temples took their shape using money to mint money. No holy thing come to our mind if we visit there.

Dr. Shivarama Karanth was a Brahmin by birth of Coastal Karnataka. His writings, Criticism never changed a nanometer of what these orthodoxies are doing.

What we common people can do ? Just advice your kith and kin about scientific temper. Slowly it MAY change after some centuries... Nothing can be expected all of a sudden.

At the same time.... It is strange on these Communists (Generally they don't believe GOD) and barking at these places... Kammi Nishtaru... Culminating the already culminated society.... Shoonya Sampadane....
