The Kaup Beach Utsav-2012 saw a motley crowd thronging the seashore on the final day. The event was organized by Kaup Beach Friends.

The valedictory of the festival was graced by Sri Laxmivarateertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math here on Sunday December 30. 

Kaup Beach Utsav committee president, social worker Suresh P Shettigurme presided over the programme. Udupi district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, SCDCC Bank president N Rajendra Kumar, DK and Udupi district fisheries federation president Yashpal Suvarna, Manohar Shetty of Sairadha Developers, deputy director of tourism department M R Prakash, taluk panchayat member Shambhavi Kulal, Beach Festival committee vice-president Shekar Salian, Mohan Bangera, Beach Friends president Mohan D Puthran, Prabhakar Poojari, Chandrashekar, Naveen S K among others were present.

On Sunday December 30, the second day of the festival, people gathered in large numbers to enjoy the festival. Besides Kaup light house, various shops, stalls, food stalls, amusement parks, kite show, sand sculptures were lined up for about one kilometer along the seashore. Enthusiasts in large numbers actively participated.
 
Kaup Circle Inspector Shivanand Valekar, Kaup police station SI Rajendra Nayak, Shirva SI K R Nayak, Padubidri SI Mahadev Setti provided security.

Folk dances were presented by the artistes of other states after the completion of sports events on Sunday evening.

    People please forget about all culture and enjoy beach life and have fun. life is short. Focus on life and enjoy the blessing everyday and stop critizing cultures. Every culture has great values and purpose. If you life it follow it and if you don't follow the best suits to your life style. Happy New YEAR

    Dress code never mind, what about towels (Byras) on shoulders of people on stage , is there any link between Festival & Towel?

    Sunil,Its not any Rave party to dress the way how you want. I guess u are very interested in Bay Watch. Please switch on TV and watch Ftv / TLC , u wil get the dress of ur choice.

    Nice to see people enjoying at the beach.

    But I think people need better dressing sense at least for the beach.

    I see a lot of people wearing formal trousers and shirts.
